2/11 AP and Coaches Polls

#20 Wisconsin comes into Williams Thursday coming of 3 wins and an emotional home victory over #3 Michigan.

Will we find a cornered, wounded animal or one that has already rolled over dead for the season?

Zero votes in the coaches poll. Zero. I'd have expected a few just from those who turned in ballots before the game. So #26 in AP, < #40 in coaches. Every other team that dropped out in the coaches poll still had votes. Yikes. I'd like to think 2 wins this week gets us back into both polls. AP for sure.

According to ESPN, the Gophers have 28 votes in the coaches poll.

Kentucky hasn't done anything to deserve being ranked. I guess they beat Ole Miss?

I'm obviously biased as an IU student, but at least the Hoosiers have done enough to warrant being #1.

Yahoo/Rivals does not have us listed, but 28 would make more sense.

Memphis is also back in the top 25. At least that's something good for the Gophers.

I guess. The U lost to Florida Gulf Coast and Indiana State. That may be enough for voters to keep them out of the 1 spot, for principle

Has there been a single week this year that the coaches' poll has had us ranked the same as or higher than the AP poll? Usually the top 10 in the two polls are about the same, but even in the weeks when we were #8 and #9 in the AP poll, the coaches' had us at #10 and #11 respectively. I'm pretty sure every week we've been ranked, the coaches' poll has had us 2 or more spots lower than the AP. At first I thought the coaches' poll was just a week behind, but then when our AP ranking started to drop, our coaches' ranking dropped right along with it. Also I think this marks the third time this season that we have been ranked #26, the first one out, in either poll.

No we didn't. :)

What the "F" are you talking about here??? What U lost to these teams???

EDIT: Oh, I see now you must be talking about Miami. You might want to specify that, and what did that have to do with my Memphis comment?

I'm still amazed Oregon is rated in the AP.

The way things are going, the #1 team in the NCAA tourney may have four or five losses.
