per Andrew Krammer:

But how the Gophers respond to crushing loss in their next three games will shape the state of first-year coach Richard Pitino's inaugural season. Pitino's Gophers have won two Big Ten games against squads with a combined 0-6 record and have fallen to teams with a combined 7-0 Big Ten mark so far this season.

The Gophers host No. 3 Ohio State on Thursday, travel to No. 20 Iowa three days later and host No. 4 Wisconsin on Jan. 22 for one of two tough stretches in the schedule. Three of the Gophers' final four road conference games come at Wisconsin, at Ohio State and at Michigan.

If Pitino's Gophers win one or two of the next three games, they'll give some validity to the notion that a schematic change -- or better yet, a schematic fit to players -- is sufficient enough to start climbing over the proverbial 9-9 Big Ten hump.

If the Gophers lose all three games and carry the lull into the following games against lowly Nebraska, Northwestern and Purdue -- they'll confirm Pitino's first year is merely a placeholder.

Go Gophers!!

Very dumb. Really hard to evaluate the coach based on the outcome of this season. I want to see him with HIS type of players (see lil Dre & Malik)...then we can evaluate the coach.

I think it is pretty important to win one of these games. With the lead against MSU, we get the feeling we let a big chance slip away. It would be really nice to see Pitino lock down the games against the bad teams (no losses against bottom third of B1G would be great), compete against the middle of the pack, and steal one or two from the big boys. Against Syracuse and MSU, we showed we have what it takes to hang with these teams. However, there have been too many disappointments with the Gophers, I no longer get excited about just "hanging with" someone. We need to find that killer instinct and finish one off against a good opponent.

Who the F is Andrew Krammer.

Based on his incredible exhibition of "media fail" I think he might be an eight year old pontificating from his ipad in his bedroom. What complete mindless tripe.

OTOH, if he is getting someone to pay him to write this pile of stupid he must have some brains.

Still, Andrew, this article sucks.

When it comes to "if's", "what if's" and "predictions of the future" I am the best at it all. But, then again, I am an expert because I refuse to pontificate things I have no control over.

But it is so much fun to laugh at people who buy into this $hit.

So true Doc. I always avoid prophesying beforehand because it is much better to prophesy after the event has already taken place.

So true back at you, Namesake. :) It is so easy to be a fan whose hindsight is always 20-20.
