From Jon Rothstein:
Eric Curry, Minnesota
People from the periphery may point to Reggie Lynch’s dismissal and Amir Coffey’s shoulder injury as a reason for the Gophers’ struggles last season after a strong start, but losing Curry was also a major blow. Minnesota earned a five seed in the NCAA Tournament two seasons ago with the 6-foot-9 Curry averaging 5.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in 20.0 minutes off the bench as a freshman. If he didn’t suffer a major knee injury before last year started, he’d have been one of the best reserves in the Big Ten and a capable replacement next to Jordan Murphy up front when Lynch went out of the lineup. His return is critical to Richard Pitino again having a chance to finish in the top half of the Big Ten standings next season.
