According to the links in the article, the Gophers are 24th in Revenue at $78,924,683.00 just behind Michigan State and ahead of schools like USC, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State. The Gophers brought in more revenue than the following Big Ten teams: Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, and Northwestern.
The Gophers rank 20th in expenses at $78,924,683.00 (allegedly breaking exactly even? HMMM) Just ahead of Nebraska and USC. The Gophers expenses were higher than the following Big Ten teams: Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern and Illinois.
Obviously the Gophers revenue and expenses are going to be affected by the sheer number of sports that are offered at Minnesota compared to some other BCS schools. I also think we have to look at Minnesota breaking even, and wonder just how accurate these numbers are (and thus, how much weight we should give them). I do think it's amazing for a program that some on here likes to claim has "bad fans" to bring in so much revenue while putting putrid products on the field in revenue sports during the year covered.
