Post Game Thread: Hawkeyes Humiliate Gophers

Yeah, I saw this and commented on it when it occurred. Looked from the broadcast that he had a WIDE OPEN left side of the field and decided to cut back to the right......right into a defender. It's really hard to explain how nearly every player on the field for the Gophers was blowing it.

Benjamin Mataalii Commits to Gophers! (UPDATED 10/27: Benjamin decommits from Gophers)

Saturday was such an abomination.....that guys are decommitting. On the flip side.....there's a clear path to playing time for big guys who know how to block.

Whining about the university not investing more into football because they are "snow flakes". Clearly the irony is lost on you.

In hindsight, this outcome is not that surprising. This is Mark Gronowski's sixth year as a starting college QB.

Getting beaten handily by Iowa wouldn't be surprising. Getting blown out 41-3 like we're playing an Ohio State team stacked with top end talent though? We should expect better than that at this point in Fleck's tenure.

    This is a fireable offense

But it IS a problem. I'd bet that when we played UNC in Chapel Hill, that was the only non conference game under Fleck in which the Gophers were underdogs. Yet he's lost four non conference games including a head scratching game against Bowling Green. It's a symptom of a larger issue. The...

    This is a fireable offense

I'm not going to go team by team and determine what their NC winning percentage is. Let me ask you this.....what is Fleck's best non conference win? Beating up on a terrible Colorado team? Sorry.....but I'm not going to give Fleck credit for beating a bunch of over matched teams while...

    This is a fireable offense

I would guess a lot of the teams that play two cupcakes and a bottom feeder P5 team every year.

Says the guy whining about "liberal bias" on a football forum. Every accusation is an admission with these goobers.

    This is a fireable offense

IF we win three of the last four. That's a big IF when you consider that the Gophers have played well in ONE game this season. Sorry.....but in six power conference games....the team has only played well in the Nebraska game. We needed to claw and scratch AT HOME to beat Rutgers and...

    This is a fireable offense

Yeah.....most power conference teams have good non conference records because they play outmatched opponents. I wouldn't call beating Buffalo and Northwest Tech.....while losing to a Cal team with a bunch of new players and an entirely new coaching staff a success. Common occurrence year after...

AT WHAT POINT DO YOU SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Hear hear. I'm done with football. From now on, I'll spend my Saturday climbing a tree and playing jacks.

    This is a fireable offense

Okay....but we aren't 8-4 yet. That would require winning three of our last four. All more than winnable games.....but Purdue and Rutgers have shown that we are vulnerable.....even at home. And we haven't shown up for a road game yet unless you call losing to a mediocre Cal team "showing up"...

    This is a fireable offense

People need to drop these knee jerk reactions. Fleck isn't getting fired while continuing to produce winning seasons. That's just a fact (at this point in time). Does anyone remember what the Bank was like in those early seasons? We had only two seasons with a Big Ten record over .500 out...

Post Game Thread: Hawkeyes Humiliate Gophers

Basically. Under Fleck we're just doomed/blessed to see a low standard deviation from year to year. We're going to be right around the middle of the pack because that's what Fleck's goal is. Run clock to shorten games. Play a soft defense that allows easy third down conversions in order to...

    Week 9 Other Games Thread

Wisconsin has gone 11 straight quarters without scoring a single point. Good chance it'll be three straight FULL games.

    Week 9 Other Games Thread

Watching Oregon beat down Wisconsin will help me feel a little better. Badgers are even more incompetent than we were today. lol at the kickoff.

    This is a fireable offense

Great is subjective. Like....I wouldn't call an hours old McDonalds hamburger "great"......but it's way better than the cold cheese sandwich we had in the late 00's.

What grade would you give the Gophers coaches and players in Iowa loss?

They get an 'effe'.....which is even worse than a normal 'F' because it's French.
