Post Game Thread: Gophers Lose a Very Winnable Game at Cal

I am an idiot, but even I would know if you have a young but talented qb, you never rush just three, ever! If I was such a qb, please rush just three so I have 4 seconds to throw the ball. Please don't mix up who your blitzing. Please play vanilla so my 5 new off line starters know who to...

All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

In hindsight, McConnell should have played McCarthy many preseason series. Nix played many quarters of the preseason last year. Not sure on the other '24 QB class.

    Last Years QB's though 2 games. McCarthy's 2nd start. Only Maye looks very good early. C Williams 400 y 3 td 1 int. Daniels 433 y 3 td 0 int Maye 500y 3 td 1 int Pennix 430y 1 td 0 int, with a great running game. McCarthy 300y 2 td 3 int Nix...

All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

This game looked like the Lions and Rams games. Oline folding like a deck chair. QB getting tons of blame as WR's are running double moves and taking 3 seconds to get open when qb has 2. Where are the quick slants, the screen passes? Hell fake an end around to JJ to open up something? We...

maybe trading DT Phillips wasn't smart after all. Teams need players who do the dirty work, even if they aren't good pass rushers.

Minnesota Basketball 2025-26 Preview: Medved More Than Ready to Lead Gophers

It also says keeping Isaac Asuma wasn’t a bad move either? Duh a few coaches say he has a chance to be a pro?

Shama: Niko Medved Talks Keeping Best Hoops Talent Home

The Chet Holmgren's, Jalen Suggs, Tyus Jones types, all top 10 players in their respective classes, will almost never play for the home school, they go blue blood or today go somewhere with top NIL money. Not just here, but in every state that doesn't have a blue blood in it. I have looked...

Gophers quarterback Drake Lindsey shows off big arm in practices - Pioneer Press

We are going from a 5th year SR, who is known for his accuracy, to a redshirt freshman with a big arm. I would be more shocked if you said he was crazy accurate.

    2026 Recruiting

His game is similar to Cade Tyson and Durkin, although Durkin is now 220lbs. 6-7 long wing player who was a bit of a 4, who has upped his outside game to play sf in college. Very good shooter, average athlete.

    2026 Recruiting

Dothan has a bit of a tweener game. SF size, not a shooter, 6-6 215 very good athlete. He was rated higher when he was younger, he didn’t get taller or get the wing skills needed for sf.

How do the Golden Gophers match up with the Hawkeyes?

Iowa has better off and defensive lines almost every year. We sometimes have a better QB and wr’s.

    Nolen Anderson commits to Gophers!!!

Seems to be a similar player to transfer Cade Tyson, a 6-7 200 SF, and Bobby Durkin, 6-7 220. Shooting is a definite strength of all 3. Great to get a Wayzata guy as they are a top program that produces some talent. Also great that his game has really taken off this summer that he comited now.

    Offense 79th, Defense 9th

Speaking of last year's record: Very good wins: USC, at UCLA, Maryland, at Illinois, at Wisconsin. Maybe V tech keeping bowl streak alive. Near misses: N. Carolina, Michigan, and Penn St. Bad losses: Rutgers and Iowa. Iowa by the way we lost. I'm getting pumped for the season to start!

    Offense 79th, Defense 9th

Your right, I actually checked the box scores and for the last year the defense has held very well. Maybe '23 had some games where the above was true like Wisconsin. College game has changed even PJ will finally stay aggressive with a lead. The days of teams getting a 10 pt lead and milking...

    2026 Recruiting

Freitag seemed the better athlete and maybe a higher ceiling, Asuma seemed like he had the better intangibles: coachable, loves to pass, plays defense. Guards don't go to Wisconsin very often and see the floor. I am happy with Asuma as well, even if Freitag becomes and all conf player at Buffalo.

    2026 Recruiting

I find the 247 composite ranking a better average of major recruiting services. 247 has him rated way higher than anywhere else. '26 kreager is a late bloomer, needs to put on weight and a mid major might fit him for early playing time. Dothan Ijadimbola, Nolan Anderson, and Jayden Morre...

    Offense 79th, Defense 9th

Our defense was quite good, but part of the reason it ranks as high as it has is that the better teams only need to score 20+ pts per game to beat us. If we were in more shootouts it would rank lower. Teams get conservative once a win is in hand. If Iowa starts scoring more with that S Dakota...

All Things Class of 2026 Minnesota Gophers Basketball Recruiting Thread

I hope so! I haven't seen anyone his size and skill level not rated by 247 and not without major offers. Built like Humphries, but skilled like Garcia. At lease in the few online games I have watched. One was against Wayzata.
