    2:30 PM Kickoff at Iowa

You fairly pegged the Iowa defense and special teams. Watching Iowa try to win games is amazing just because the offense is so bad. The Iowa defense is not as good as it was last year (and last year Gophers pushed Iowa up and down the field but turned it over). Only thing to watch for the Iowa...

    The Matchup With Iowa

Yeah that is what worries me as an Iowa fan. Gophers ran for more than 200 on handoffs to the backs last year, before you take out the sack yardage. I thought Fleck played way too conservative at times last year. Kicked a FG when Iowa led 3-0 on 4th and goal from the 2 yard line. Second...

    The Matchup With Iowa

Crazy game. Hard to say Iowa "deserved" to win as the offense was so putrid. The Iowa defense and special teams set up the offense at the Illinois 31 yard line, and the Illinois 5 yard line in the second quarter. Amazingly, Iowa got only 3 points out of those. Went backwards when taking over at...

    The Matchup With Iowa

Pretty much the case. Both of O'Connell's picks were with the wind. Iowa did a good job of pressuring him, both with the sacks and also the times they just made him throw it a bit early. They had him rattled, as the stats show. He was 20-43 for 168 yards. Averaged just 3.9 yards per pass...

    Iowa o-line issues

UW's defense traditionally gives Iowa fits. And it did again Saturday. Concerning part was the couple of sacks they had when rushing just 3. Just Iowa guys getting beat really badly. No confusion on those plays, just linemen not blocking well. They did have 2 weeks of improvement against...

    The Matchup With Iowa

It was too bad. The Iowa defense put up a very good fight. With even just a modicum of offense, Iowa is tied or leading at half. First play of the game, INT to OSU. Field goal. They gave Stroud and the OSU offense more fits for a half (really 3 quarters) than any team has all year. Yes, short...

    The Matchup With Iowa

I would agree on Ibrahim. We Iowa fans like Kaleb Johnson, he went for 200 against Purdue but not in the same realm as Ibrahim at this point in his career. The Iowa OL has so far not proven to be able to block against a good defense.

    The Matchup With Iowa

I mean, it's not an entirely bad strategy. I'm not sure Iowa could win the game if literally Minnesota did not attempt one pass. Even if penalties or loss yardage running puts Gophers in 3rd and 9, just run it for a gain of 4 and punt. Whatever team gets a lead on Saturday will have a huge...

You do realize if Iowa beats us, they will win the west

Iowa offense is not good. As in, really, really bad. Combine that with a stretch where they played Iowa State, Illinois, Ohio State and Michigan, all with top 12 defenses. Bad offense playing good defenses = historicially bad offensive numbers. They did play a bit better against Northwestern...

First Vegas line opens as Gophs by one, moves to Iowa by three

Anyone that says they know is making things up. Iowa had to work hard to lose to Purdue. Had 460 yards of offense, but committed 10 penalties and fumbled once at the Purdue 10 yard line and another time at about the 25 to lose 24-20. Northwestern, Iowa led 17-0 and Wildcats outscored Iowa 21-3...
