Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

Interesting times. Various players as employees will now make more than university presidents. Can great college teams become a greater source of cash to some universities - yes! The NFL is sure profitable to the owners. Anyone want to buy a university with me that’s financially strapped...

    Seeding Changed for Upcoming Season

2026 QB commit Owen Lansu says he reminds Gophers staff of Max Brosmer | video

Interesting how w these writers nearly every HS QB recruit is the next - It’s almost the kiss of mediocrity and dropping to a lower division. What is it ~ 10%-15% live up to the hype. Certainly not bashing the kids, rather the chatter mill of lazy writers.

B1G soliciting preliminary bids from private equity firms

B1G soliciting preliminary bids from private equity firms

A money grab. The complete financialization of college sports. Seems like another great opportunity for the top 0.1% to increase their wealth, and w their tax rates to decline there should be more trickle down for the rest of us.

    Fire Ben Johnson

My interest diminished through the RP seasons and I wrote Gopher basketball off entirely when Johnson was hired. Not sure where I am compared with an “average” alum that at one time loved to watch gopher basketball but I’m not coming back without some deep tourni runs - which can only happen w...

    4 vs 12 Teams

It worked because 11-12 games in a season is too small a sample size to adequately judge teams against others when there isn’t many cross conference games. The new format is great for college football. TX earned a final 4 spot; a good, well coached team - that is what the new format provides.

Mayo announcers may have been worst ever

Oregon vs Ohio was brutal - self centered jack wagons that talked about themselves incessantly and never shut up. It’s like they felt the need to entertain us rather than let the game do it.

2024 Gopherhole HAM of the Year!

Appreciate being light on the sarcasm and more thoughtful review/analysis. No coincidence that people are turning off national media after this year and the year to come.
