Here is TxTech billionaire walking through blueprint for how they bought their way into the national spotlight. This is the new college football.

The boosters at TTU didn’t waste money. They have significantly improved their athletic department. There aren’t going to be any repercussions either. Tech, and other Texas schools, hasn’t signed up with the CSC NIL clearinghouse as ordered by the Texas AG due to conflict with Texas law.

Would we, or the donors, feel like a bunch of money was blown if the Gophers were the #4 team in the country with a bye in the CFP?

All Things 2025-26 Minnesota Twins Off-Season Thread

If they aren’t going to do what it takes to win, why keep any of them? Just tear it down to the studs. Public opinion of ownership probably can’t get any worse.

    Thoughts on 2026?

What’s the bigger ROI? Bringing Taylor back and spending the same on OL as last year or putting that NIL money into the OL and relying on other, likely less talented, RBs? This isn’t to say that Taylor hasn’t been a great player for the Gophers. The overarching question should be which...

    Defensive Line Coach let go

I think that improvement needs to come from the DC. Simplify the scheme or figure out a better way to teach the scheme to the players.

    Defensive Line Coach let go

Fix that unit, get the secondary to cover somebody and they probably have a good defense again. The second group probably comes down to coaching too. Many players in the secondary looked confused most of the year.

    Defensive Line Coach let go

I think there are more to the defensive issues than the DL coach but this is a start.

    Defensive Line Coach let go

This dismissal just completes the wet dream for the MN media. They got to negatively cover a bad unit all season and now get to provide negative coverage when the leader of that unit is dismissed.

    Defensive Line Coach let go

But there were also a significant number of games where the opposing RB wasn’t getting touched until 3-4 yards downfield. The DL was getting blown off the ball frequently on running plays. Additionally, the pressure wasn’t consistent as they had something like 16 of those sacks in two games.

Official 2026 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

Hopefully, Stevens’ track speed (10.38) being more significant than Hoskins’ (11.02) translates to the field as they seem to be the same size and we saw how much Hoskins struggled to see the field.

Gophers 2025 Movement Roster Thread - Transfers, Bowl Opt-Outs, Etc.

Correct, so you have to adjust on a year by year basis. The goal should be to have your transfers be as impactful as possible and have HS recruiting fill in the rest. For a school like MN, that likely means fewer transfers.

Is this an example of the grass isn’t always greener on the other side? Virginia Tech cashing in on Penn State’s arrogance/ineptitude.

Given that it sounds like he hid an injury from the staff, hopefully he’s finding another team for next year.

Gophers 2025 Movement Roster Thread - Transfers, Bowl Opt-Outs, Etc.

Going forward it may be wise to have smaller, more impactful transfer classes. Rather than taking 3 WRs, take 1 that is more likely to be a significant contributor, identify positions by value on each side of the ball and only pay transfers at the most valuable positions, etc. Initially, they...

They will likely need to go to the portal again for OL & DL as there were just too many misses in the 21-23 HS classes.

    Thoughts on 2026?

Looks like a year to take a big swing even if it results in a couple down years to refill the NIL coffers.

    National Signing Day

Yep, example is the OL this year. While the transfer adds this year weren’t good, the complete lack of success recruiting/retaining HS OL from 21-23 was the killer.

Kind of surprised there's no talk about Dec 3rd signing day.

I think the kids name was Charlie Jilek. Possibly a TE.

Poll: Which assistant coaches should not be retained in their current role?

I wouldn’t be offended if there were changes either. Given the performance of the defense, it would probably be a mistake if all options weren’t on the table.
