Which team did media pick to win the conference in the 15th annual cleveland.com Preseason Big Ten Football Poll? (11. Minnesota)

I agree on Indiana....disagree on Illinois. If there is a darkhorse to win the conference it is them or Michigan based on their schedules (on paper as of today, obviously things can and will change once games get going). But look at this schedule.....Illinois is primed for a season like the...

Ranking the Big Ten's quarterbacks from worst to first heading into 2025 (18. Drake Lindsey (Minnesota))

Good point. Thankfully we are getting closer to the end of filler season where these worthless lists and rankings get published all the time. Once camp starts up there is actual news to start following with teams.

Ranking the Big Ten's quarterbacks from worst to first heading into 2025 (18. Drake Lindsey (Minnesota))

When there are so many unknows with so many of these players it is silly to try and rank them 1-18. Tiers is a far better way to go. Lots of questions with Drake as is the case with many of the others on this list, could go any number of different ways for a bunch of them.

Curt Cignetti on IU’s notably soft non conference slate: “We figured we’d adopt the SEC scheduling model.”

SEC should 100% be playing 9 conference games like the Big Ten. I also don't fault Big Ten teams for not going after really tough non-conf games because a 9 game conf schedule is already very difficult. That said, Indiana is going for the creamiest of creampuffs in their non-conf schedule to...

Curt Cignetti on IU’s notably soft non conference slate: “We figured we’d adopt the SEC scheduling model.”

It's a great one liner although not entirely accurate. It is true that most SEC teams play 3 creampuffs but the majority also play at least one quality non-conf opponent. Indiana's non-conf schedule is incredibly soft. Is what it is, as long as they don't complain when nobody takes them...

Yard Barker: Koi Perich on potential two-way role: 'I always wanted to do it'

It is going to be fun to see how it all plays out this season. Will be shocked if Heisman talk becomes a legit part of the conversation but would of course be awesome if it did because it would mean he was making a massive impact on both sides of the ball.

Yard Barker: Koi Perich on potential two-way role: 'I always wanted to do it'

I will be really surprised if he gets enough run on offense to get into the Heisman conversation. But AA honors would definitely seem like a real possibility if he continues on the same trajectory as he started on last year. Takes a lot for a non QB to win the Heisman these days. TH played...

‘Slap in the Face’ Motivates Gophers New QB Drake Lindsey

Yeah there is zero doubt that Drake looks the part. Going to be very interesting to see how he looks when the lights are on and the pressure amps up. Hopefully he has learned a ton from Brosmer and others and is ready to hit the ground running. There will almost certainly be plenty of ups and...

2025 Big Ten college football projections, preview

Yep....very fair assessment of where the team is at. And while I think it is really hard to project where most teams are going to be at this time of year I do agree that we are definitely one of the toughest to project. Unfortunate that so much hinges on one guy but if Drake can get it done we...

‘Slap in the Face’ Motivates Gophers New QB Drake Lindsey

Larry Fitzgerald used to workout in MN during the summer and he would bring NFL guys in to the Gophers facility to work on their craft. Some Gopher players like Eric Decker and others would get involved, awesome opportunity to work with the best in the business. Glad to hear Drake is taking...

Yard Barker: Koi Perich on potential two-way role: 'I always wanted to do it'

Yeah, Hunter is the natural name to toss around because he just played such a massive role on off/def but I doubt we see that same kind of snap count for Koi. My guess is we see him on D full time, Punt returns full time, and in a handful of offensive packages over the course of the game. Will...

New NIL Enforcement Targets Collectives, deals must serve ‘valid business purpose’

I am all for anything that makes NIL deals real NIL deals and stops the Pay for Play stuff. But I don't have high hopes of their being any kind of actual and consistent enforcement and we all know teams will find all the loop holes.

72 or 76 team NCAA tournament.....NCAA determined to ruin one of the best things in sports.

They are right, there is no need to expand the tournament....it is going to happen because $$$ but there definitely isn't a need for it. There wasn't a need to expand to 68 either......didn't stop it from happening.

5 star tackle commits to TTU for 5mil over 3 years

Interesting discussion on this deal and unfortunately this is probably the direction we are headed where guys will be signing multi year deals out of high school in order to keep them at one school. Feels like a losing proposition for the school and a great deal for the hot shot prospect. So...

    Fleck's Good Wins at Minnesota

Agree, attempting to inject politics into the football board should be an instant ban of at least a week.

    Fleck's Good Wins at Minnesota

Better way to measure success is # of conference seasons finishing over .500. Fleck has gone over .500 in 4 of his 7 full seasons Claeys did it during his interim year. Kill did it one time during his time here Brewster never finished over .500 in conference Mason did it 2 times in 10 years...

    Fleck's Good Wins at Minnesota

See now I would argue that what Fleck has done here is elite....by Minnesota standards. Fleck has had more success and sustained success here than any coach since the 1960s. That might not be good enough for some fans but in this college football landscape where we are unlikely to be a true...

    Fleck's Good Wins at Minnesota

Love it...though sadly the bad loses thread will probably get more traction because people love to complain way more then they love to remember the good things on message boards.

    Fleck's bad losses at MN

A movie scene that has always stuck with me is this one from the Might Ducks..... In the end it all comes down to how you choose to look at things in life. Some will choose to dwell on what could have been, even though in nearly all cases where you dwell on those kind of things there is no...

    Fleck's bad losses at MN

I agree....I don't get why some feel the need to dwell on loses....especially years after they happened. To each their own though. I'd rather focus on the wins and good things that have happened as opposed to looking for things to complain about.
