Joe Mauer - Cooperstown - IN!

Not a damn thing. No professional athlete has ever given back part of their salary because fans or ownership don't think their performance results were worth the money. Interesting Stat: Now that Mauer is in there are only 11 catchers in MLB history who have entered the HOF through the...

    Cover Songs

If you haven't heard the song they wrote in Roswell, NM, where they were stranded for 10 days when their van broke down - here it is. Apparently, it's become something of an anthem for the City of Roswell. And here's another one of their cover songs that I like:

What is your favorite Gopher football memory?

The Gophers beat 6th ranked Purdue 27-13 at Memorial Stadium in 1968. Purdue was ranked No. 1 the previous week before they lost to Ohio State. They finished the season ranked 10th. Mike Phipps was the Purdue QB and Leroy Keyes was their running back. Phil Hagen was the Gopher QB and Jim...

Former Gophers football players' lawsuit against University of Minnesota is dismissed

The U's handling of the cases looked like "due process" to most people. The EOAA investigated the claims and the U Administration held individual hearings in which the football players could have an attorney present. Ten players where accused of violating the Student Code of Conduct and four...

Wow: Kirk Ciarrocca Takes OC Job at Rutgers

I don't agree. Rossi turned a failing defense into a very solid defense that pretty much saved the rest of the season for the Gophers. Whatever impact Simon had in the two bowl games in which he was interim OC doesn't compare with what Rossi accomplished as interim DC.

Wow: Kirk Ciarrocca Takes OC Job at Rutgers

I think it is likely that Fleck had more to do with the play calling in the two bowl games and developing the two 1st round WR draft picks than Simon. Fleck was a wide receiver and I have to believe he is closely involved with their development.

For those complaining about being in a "cold weather" bowl game...

Nobody is talking about what it would be like to move to NYC and live there. We're talking about going to a football game at Yankee Stadium with the opportunity to see world famous tourist attractions that millions of people travel to visit every year. I would guess there are very few people in...

Reusse and Judd have podcast about GopherHole!

Correct. To use one of his favorite words, Reusse loves to "agitate" people. He has made a long and successful career out of it. Every GopherHole thread about Reusse (and there are too many to count) is filled with agitated Gopher fans who never miss an opportunity to rip him about what he...

Is Mohamed Ibrahim the greatest RB in Gophers history?

Bronco had three sons: Bronco, Jr. , Tony, and Ron. I played against Ron in 1966. I don't know when the two older brothers played.

Is Mohamed Ibrahim the greatest RB in Gophers history?

I met Bronko when I played a HS football game in International Falls. Bronko's son played running back.

Is Mohamed Ibrahim the greatest RB in Gophers history?

There is only one choice for the Gopher's greatest running back (and maybe defensive tackle): Bronko Nagurski became a standout playing both tackle on defense and fullback on offense at Minnesota from 1927 to 1929. In 1929, after posting 737 rushing yards, he was a consensus All-American at...
