Tubby named to National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame's 2026 class

Yes. Tubby’s offense did no favors for the guys who weren’t pure jump shooters. The roster was always athletic and tough. What I loved about the Tubby era is what you knew we’d be in every game because of the defensive intensity. We were never an easy out. The offense though…woof. How many...

Cincy on road, Ok State & Utah confirmed

Great analysis, and it really highlights how much those Q4s drag down the SOS, even if you have a few marquee matchups.

Big Ten Basketball 2026-27 Standings Outlook

Preseason Top 10 Big10 ranking = Someone who actually watched Gopher basketball last year, understood the magnitude of injuries, and sees how much production we have returning compared to the college basketball landscape. Preseason Bottom 5 Ranking = Never watched any Gopher games last year...

Cincy on road, Ok State & Utah confirmed

For the first time in a while, if we're actually on the bubble come Selection Sunday, our non-con schedule wouldn't be an automatic disqualifier for us. Baby steps lol.

Cincy on road, Ok State & Utah confirmed

Confirmed @ Cinci on November 9th *Sanwiched between St. Thomas and Southern home games*

Cade Tyson - one of twelve plaintiffs suing NCAA

Cade never played with Evans at UNC. Evans was the year after Cade. That said, I agree the transition would be flawless, but Niko doesn't seem like the type to hang one of his current roster spots out to dry. Cade needs to get paid. The "role" and "fit" really don't matter for his 5th year...

Cincy on road, Ok State & Utah confirmed

I know some will be bummed, but I love that the road game is this year. Cinci has an entirely new roster, and I think playing them on the road with our continuity (hopefully early) gives us a really good chance to steal one. Side note: It surprised me how much massaging was needed to get this...

Big Ten Basketball 2026-27 Standings Outlook

In the current age, Torvik, KenPom, and really any analytical site is totally worthless in the preseason. We were well into the season last year, and Torvik was still projecting Tyson as his "UNC-self." You can't quantify all the turnover year-to-year, guys transferring up, guys transferring...

Big Ten Preview: What Oregon Basketball Will Face From Minnesota in 2026-27

Exuding a little too much confidence for a team that lost to Ben Johnson and lost at home by 17, with our whole team injured.

Nice! Gophers and Cinci to play a home and home series!

That's why I said "modest" lol. I think OK St. will be solid this year, and there's a good chance we'll get them in Charleston. They'll for sure be in our bracket. But yeah, maxing out at three or four Quad 4s would be ideal in future years. If you look at the schedule in 2023/2024, you will...

Nice! Gophers and Cinci to play a home and home series!

This is great! Cinci has 12 transfers coming in with the coaching change (Jarred Calhoun from Utah St). I hope we face them early. The non-con is a modest upgrade from last year (IMO) and far better than what we got 2 or 3 years ago.

Greder: Minnesotans keep becoming Badgers. If they pan out, Niko Medved is on the hook

🥱 this was so 2010. It just doesn’t matter anymore.

What Grade Do You Give the 26-27 Roster?

Looking back at Niko's CSU rosters, it seems there's always one alpha who plays 35+ minutes per game (Clifford, Stevens, recently). That has to be JCJ this season. He can play inside and outside, and it was fun to see flashes of him taking over at certain points last year, even out of position...

What Grade Do You Give the 26-27 Roster?

I'm definitely being a bit hard on BD! I just see us playing WAY more man-on-man with all the healthy, able-bodied players, and those early-season games when he was on ice skates defensively against inferior competition are etched into my mind. You can't deny he is a one-dimensional scorer...

Gopher Basketball 2026 Summer Workout Thread (Videos, Tweets, Pics and More)

It doesn't hurt to have back-to-back Cade Tyson and Kyan Evans, who both chased the big money, were miserable, didn't evolve as players, and refound themselves in Niko's system. A cautionary tale for all...The grass isn't always greener...

What Grade Do You Give the 26-27 Roster?

I think Durkin will see a huge reduction in minutes (16-20), and Asuma will see a modest one (20-25). And I say that as a compliment to the guys we are bringing in. I think Durkin is absolutely going to splash this year. He won't be as protected defensively by the zone, but I think he will be...

Gopher Basketball 2026 Summer Workout Thread (Videos, Tweets, Pics and More)

During the presser, Asuma and JCJ both called out Malik Kordel as the newcomer who has stood out the most. Can't wait to watch him in action!

Two more Quad 4s for the Gophers, per Alex Rosinski

Looks like OK St. will for sure be in our bracket, as they play NW in the non-conference. I see their transfer portal ranking is #26 on 247. They also rank #7 on the composite ranking (incoming freshmen)—a ton of potential to be a Q1 matchup.

Two more Quad 4s for the Gophers, per Alex Rosinski

Is it worrisome that the field isn't complete yet? I'm concerned they'll have to pick up some Q3 clunkers to fill the last two spots...
