Saban: the way players acted after Michigan loss contributed to retirement

It's a bit like Obi v Darth. College football was once the master and the NFL was a Sunday afterthought. Today's younger fans grew up with the NFL as the master and to them making college ball into an obedient apprentice makes sense. Being an old codger, I wish college ball was played by...

Saban: the way players acted after Michigan loss contributed to retirement

There's not much about college left in major college FB. My interest is nearly gone for D1.

    Proposed Rule Changes

Since we're now going to have two more TOs, I'd like to see CFB change the team TOs to Five Per Game rather than Three per Half. Or even Four per Game.

RandBall: Pessimism? Nah. Now the best Gophers teams can compete in College Football Playoff

I agree that Washington is doing well in a difficult environment. What have they done to succeed that UM hasn't?

Who else is optimistic about the 2024 season?

I wish I had kept some of the posts from a year ago when AK was considered the star of the future as B is now. Fans are always optimistic about the next QB. I hope B is as helpful as predicted and that Lindsey is a good replacement and stays with the program.

What do you miss most about Gopher games at the Metrodome?

Warm, dry, calm, noisy, and best of all Paid For. Never had any objection to the Dome for football or baseball.

    2024 Record prediction

I'll be happy if Lindsey is good. And happier if he stays here.

Who else is optimistic about the 2024 season?

I've long liked the maroon but wish the gold was toned way down. Don't like the black. Not our color and looks hoodish.

    Minnesota High School NIL

I haven't followed his posts. But I wasn't being pedantic re your misquote. The meaning is quite different depending on the word order. Cheers.

    You're misquoting him.

Miami TE Cam McCormick granted ninth year of eligibility

Really, what's the point of any academic requirements for college athletes? With the waivers, transfers, NIL, and extensions, it doesn't feel to me as a fan as though a player is any different from a contract employee of the university. Drop all the requirements and term limits on them and let...

6 years later, are we still pleased with the uniform redesign?

I'd like the gold to be toned down. Looks like Madam Ruth's gold cap tooth. Make it duller. - a little toward tan.

Every Throw From Our QB AK8 in 2023

Kal looked to me like someone who had good success at first but as his passes got dropped and his line forced him into rushing his passes or escaping, his confidence ebbed. He had probably been told how great he was until this season's collapse and was further depressed by criticism. A sad...

Time to Own Up: How did my bold predictions for Gophers football go?

Well, the RB with the highest expectation fumbled and sat. We couldn't finish games with a lead because we couldn't keep getting 1Ds on the ground. If the offense is based on a dominating rushing attack, you need to be dominating.

Time to Own Up: How did my bold predictions for Gophers football go?

Yes, QB play was disappointing. But so was TE. WR. and RB play. And the whole defense collapsed in the NW and UI games. Poor performance by many led to a down year.

    Who is Everyones Other Team?

The Gophers are not boring to me when they are running the ball well. As re other teams, if you mean PBS teams, I'm not interested in any of them. I follow some FCS, D2, and D3 teams.

Why does Minnesota not have a Bowl Game?

A regular kick off game every year in MN sounds good. First game of the college football season. A way to re-establish MN as a college football state.
