Possible Schedule Changes for this Fall?

I think it's a pretty even round robin for MN/WI/IA to end the year. Week 11 NW @ MN IA @ WI Week 12 IA @ MN WI @ NE Week 13 MN @ WI NE @ IA Purdue finishes with easier games IL/NW/IN with crossovers being PSU/MA/IN. 2022 could be their year.

Way Too Early Top 25 Polls

I'm surprised Nebraska didn't make the preseason Top 25. Texas and USC did...again.

    Patterson to Colorado

That point is so obvious, yet some people have a thick skull, can't seem to understand it, and bring up the TE issue over and over and over and over; as if throwing to the blocking TEs on the Goph roster in 2019 was somehow a better option than throwing to 2 and maybe 3 future NFL receivers...

May have to start new divisions

If I understand the current NCAA set up correctly, college divisions by NIL won't work under current guidelines because, theoretically, a D3 or D2 player can also get NIL money much less another level of Division 1. For there to be consistent limits put in place, I would think individual...

    Bowl game ratings

OK State (very good) and Iowa State (decent) play defense. Baylor has an efficient defense. The rest are mediocre to bad.

Better to win bowl or go 7-5 and lose bowl?

Rutger's was in an enviable position regardless of record. That school won't see another NYD bowl game anytime soon. It had to be a net benefit from a recruiting perspective.

Better to win bowl or go 7-5 and lose bowl?

My preference ranking would be: #1 having the best conference record including rivalries but lose the bowl. #2 having the best regular season record including winning shitty non-conference games but lose the bowl (this probably nets the team a better bowl). #3 worse regular season but win the...

None of the Utah Utes players are opting out of the Rose Bowl

This is one reason why I like the Gophs residing in the Big Ten West. Their real competition is inside their mini-conference with six other relatively match-up level teams (depending on the year). The strong programs in the BTW will occasionally have really good years where they can challenge...

West Virginia Fans React to Minnesota Loss

You're probably right that I'm off base with the Maryland comment. Maryland probably has better athletes than WVU, at least on offense, but less discipline. Maybe I'm wrong, but my off-the-cuff feel for Maryland is that they have some very good athletes, but they are dumb as stones. I'm guessing...

    LOL. So completely NOT Maryland.

I don't underestimate the Gophs anymore under Fleck. They can play with anyone on a good day. However, the team has been inconsistent enough, especially on offense, to know which team shows up. The Gophs coulda woulda shoulda killed WVU by four touchdowns if not for red zone issues.

    2021 Other Bowl Games Thread

I didn't mention yesterday, Utah's QB Cameron Rising is something special. Utah doesn't get much play out here nor on ESPN, so I had no idea. What a big surprise that game was.

I'll also say I overestimated WVU. They were basically Maryland with a worse offense.

Baylor's defense is pretty respectable. Ole Miss losing their star QB pretty much sealed their fate.

West Virginia Fans React to Minnesota Loss

There is some truth to underestimating the traditional non-helmet schools; and this is one reason I love the bowl season so much (please CFP, don't kill it). For example, I always underestimate Utah as being less than Oregon et al in the Pac 12, but that team is tough as hell. Same with Kentucky...
