Jackson State and Oregon State are both teams in transition. The former lost their successful coach (moved up to Charlotte) and a WNBA draft pick and the latter lost virtually their entire team due to conference realignment. Hard to know what we are getting with either team.

Sounded like maybe no non-conference road games, but not 100% clear. Said on Randball Pod weren’t ready to play on road last year in conference, then mentioned 4 neutral site non-con games this year.

Katie Gearlds’ struggles last year at Purdue did not prompt her to wimp out on the remainder of the non-con schedule. In addition to a previously-agreed game with Notre Dame, she signed on to play South Carolina and Middle Tennessee in a tournament, and face Kentucky with new coach Kenny Brooks...

The previous violation was a ticky-tack nothing burger. The current one is worse. Talking directly to a transfer in waiting before the portal opens certainly seems designed to gain an advantage.

Think the Badgers play South Dakota State in Brookings, which is a good get for the Jackrabbits, who also get Creighton to come to Brookings.

What an insult. Under .500 in conference play after 7 years is not good.

Performance and history. The Gophers have finished in the AP poll 3 times in the last 50 years, and appeared in the AP preseason poll twice in the past 50 years. The 2 preseason appearances (2020, 2004) followed the last 2 AP final poll appearances (2019, 2003).

Iowa has appeared in the final AP poll 5 of the last 6 years. The comparison to Nebraska seems off the mark.

She’s on quite the scholarship roll. Iowa State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan & Ohio State all offered in July. Creighton, Drake and the South Dakota schools offered earlier. All that was missing from the region was Minnesota and Nebraska. Now it’s just Nebraska.

FWIW, playing the Ragin Cajuns in New Orleans will count as a neutral court NET game (unless NCAA rules have changed). Louisiana plays its home games in Lafayette.
