    Senior Memories

Jah Joyner and Ersery have eligibility left too. It's about 100% that Ersery leaves but I'm not sure where I'd put it for Joyner. . . 50/50 maybe.

Northwestern’s motion to dismiss the wrongful termination lawsuit brought by former coach Pat Fitzgerald was denied today, Fitz seeking $130MM.

I may have this incorrect, but I thought the remainder of the contract was $68 million but he could have been fired without cause and been owed $42 million. It was almost like the remaining $26 million was like a "non-guaranteed" contract in sports. I could be wrong.

Northwestern’s motion to dismiss the wrongful termination lawsuit brought by former coach Pat Fitzgerald was denied today, Fitz seeking $130MM.

I'm not disagreeing with where this will end up, but if NW ends up paying out anything close to the $40 million, someone's head should roll. They could have avoided this entirely by just firing him without cause and paying the remainder of his contract which was $42 million. They have now...

Tom Brady calls out a problem with modern parenting: ‘Every time they mess up, we send them to an easier place to succeed’

New England coaches saw him every day and Drew Bledsoe was not playing good. Going into the 2001 season, Bledsoe had two of the worst years of his career (1999 and 2000) and the team was 6 games under .500. Additionally, a lot of people at the time liked Michael Bishop (KState great and 2000...

Play “Your the Gopher AD”! What’s your move?

I'd be shocked if it was a Coyle hire. AD's are eventually judged on how well their men's basketball and football programs perform. Regardless of how you feel about Coyle, I refuse to believe anyone would put their career in the hands of such a uniquely unqualified person. We just have not seen...

***OFFICIAL YALE AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Kentucky settled on their 5th or 6th choice. In today’s world of college basketball, it’s hard to get top name coaches to go anywhere. That has nothing to do with our NIL program or facilities. That said, we could absolutely land a coach who has experience from the mid major ranks that could...

Play “Your the Gopher AD”! What’s your move?

If we go this route and I'm not so sure we shouldn't, lets just go get Will Wade. Those rules will be bent into knots. If we go a slightly less greasy route, lets try the talk the guy at UCSB into leaving Santa Barbara in the winter for Minneapolis. He has built a nice program.

    ROCK BOTTOM HAS BEEN ACHIEVED

I'm with you MNVC. I've been a CBJ-skeptic/hater since day 1, but the team was much better last year than the previous seasons. If you're going to fire someone after going 19-15 and 9-11 in the Big 10 (with a 7 game improvement in the Big 10), then you should have fired him before the season...

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

I think that is probably partially true, however, we've had the issue every year. I do not think the players are executing the offense the way that CBJ has drawn it up, but getting the team to properly execute is part of coaching.

The only good chubby PG I've ever seen was El Amin.

Until we stop bargain bin shopping for coaches, the result will mostly be the same.

100% The job of a college football/basketball program got a lot harder. Recruiting now involves recruiting your own players, evaluating players now includes evaluating potential portal players, and NIL fundraising is part of the job. But you're 100% right, with that, there is also a necessity...

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Well you keep the good and change the pieces that aren't working. So yeah, change the entire offense.

Part of the NIL commitment is also on the head coach. When you're an executive, sales is 100% part of your job.

I don't think you understand how DEI hires work. Lets walk through your reasons. He went to a local Catholic school. I am Catholic but this means absolutely nothing. I would hope the U does not prioritize people who went to Hill Murray or Cretin over candidates. If, for whatever reason, they...

We didn’t bargain bin shop for Ben Johnson. We could have gotten much better coaches for similar price.

    26 Pts to Rutgers?!?

I don’t want to call them flukes, but two of those long passes in the first half were kind of wonky too. Rutgers doesn’t make those plays in 9/10 games.

    19 points against Rutgers???

We aren’t going to win many games when we can’t run the ball at all. Rutgers made a few more plays than they usually make and we played a little sloppy. We’re just not good enough to beat teams if they play good and we play bad.

Does Fleck need to fire OC Harbaugh?

He is going to talk about how he played defensive line as justification for his horrible take. Of course you’re right, our scheme is a bit different now than it was previously.
