    Gabe Weaver Commits to Gophers!

He didn't just go to Cornell, he took a boatload of women's studies programs and wrote the Penis Apologies, the companion piece to the Vagina Monologues. He's earned our respect.

Ski-U-Max! Gopher Men's Basketball Adds Guard Duo to the Program - Maximus Gizzi (New Palestine, Ind.) and Max Lorenson (Eden Prairie, Minn.)

Spaulding is the Gopherhole recruiting prognosticator. I haven't quite been able to reverse-engineer his methods, but he is hitting about 95% on knowing when local players are likely to end up at Wisconsin. He is especially accurate in his predictions from players from the southern suburbs.

Ski-U-Max! Gopher Men's Basketball Adds Guard Duo to the Program - Maximus Gizzi (New Palestine, Ind.) and Max Lorenson (Eden Prairie, Minn.)

It'd be fun if we had a guy to just play a few minutes a game to just bother and be a pest to our opponents.

Ski-U-Max! Gopher Men's Basketball Adds Guard Duo to the Program - Maximus Gizzi (New Palestine, Ind.) and Max Lorenson (Eden Prairie, Minn.)

I know nothing about Maximus Gizzi, but if he doesn't get playing time, I'm starting a Niko Medved is a Disaster thread by January. I might even it spell Nico (sic).

Shams: "I'm told Kevin Durant has no desire to be in Minnesota with the Timberwolves"

It sounds like it's Houston or Miami, I wonder how much of it has to do with him keeping an additional $14.4 million because of lack of state income tax.

    Knicks fire Thibs!

This is not a shot at you but it's just an observation. I've never seen a guy come under so much heat while producing like he has. In that series, he averaged 25 points (on 17 shots) with 12 rebounds. He wasn't a good defensive player but he did slightly more than Pascal Siakam and drastically...

    DL Jeremiah Benson committs

It's always a good sign when you have the body type to be 265 and look thin. He has a ton of room to grow and nice some offers. RTB.

There is no way this one could hurt.

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

Agreed. When we think of the clearinghouse, I hope they think about it in terms of things that could potentially withstand antitrust scrutiny.

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

I know of their success but then what will they fund less than other Big 10 schools? You have to figure football will be #1 by a wide margin. Do they walk back funding for basketball? That'd be strange for the Big 10 team.

History Shows Pacers vs. Thunder May Draw Record-Low Ratings

This is also on Adam Silver, the NBA, and ESPN. They talk constantly about the 40 year old greats. I'm not a Lebron or Steph hater, but ESPN should have been talking endlessly about this OKC team. They should have spent more time talking about Haliburton. The players don't feel like stars to...

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

It almost has to. Do you think Penn State will fund hockey or wrestling?

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

I'll be interested to see how a lot of the restrictions hold up under legal challenges too. As far as the clearinghouse, for me, it would make sense if it was pretty simple: boilerplate contracts to protect both sides with very little allowance for redlining; proof the collectives have the...

    Settlement Reached

Has there been anything official released by any of the Title IX offices? It was always equity, which was why the Badgers got rid of their baseball program (there had to be exact same number of scholarships). If dollars are handed out by the schools, does it have to be equitable? I would have...

    Settlement Reached

We'll see how this all plays out, but I think this could be one of those unintended ripple effects of completely professionalizing the system. The truth is that women's hockey likely doesn't "need" the funding because what other programs are actually going to fund it? Who are they competing...

    Even IU has issues?

If you are referring to the Jones Day report, it did not rule that there was no wrongdoing. It ruled that ". . . not clearly unreasonable for Dr. Bomba to include a DRE in the PPEs he performed for the IU men’s basketball team.” Essentially, that's like saying it's not just on its face clearly...

Another recruiting tool for coach Fleck? The city of Minneapolis?

I wouldn't call Lake of the Isles vast wealth. That said, I think it's like most things in life. I'm sure there are some people that love the idea of going to school in Minneapolis and it's not a perfect fit for some people. It's not a traditional college town - for better or worse.

SEC Network host says Big Ten football is running a ‘Ponzi scheme’

Your data is skewed because your pre-season rank is bloated and that bloated pre-season rank is somewhat attributed to having another cupcake.
