Brohm's HS closed due to threat on Twitter

So, this is where we are now? A coach decides not to take a job that the locals/fandom wanted, so one of them decides to threaten the high school he attended? No words... link...

    Congrats to Obsa Ali!

In case some of you may have missed it, Gophers junior Obsa Ali won the NCAA title in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, OR yesterday. He finished with a time of 8:32.23 to break his own school record and claim the title. Congrats Obsa! link...

Slightly off-topic: Concordia-St. Paul over Milwaukee

So, I know this isn't really Gopher related other than the fact that we played the Golden Bears in an exhibition game and won by almost 50. But last night, Concordia-St. Paul went on the road and defeated Milwaukee 69-55 at the Black and Gold Shootout in Milwaukee. Keep in mind this is the same...

Gopher Soccer Ranked #19 in Preseason Poll

The women's soccer team doesn't get much attention on these boards, so I figured I'd add a little to the discussion. Coach Golan and the ladies were ranked #19 in the preseason United Coaches Poll yesterday. They're the top-rated Big 10 team and are joined in the poll by Rutgers at #21...

    Gophers pummel BC 6-1

Boy, the Gophers started really quickly and basically took BC out of it from the get go. Scored four first period goals and then kind of cruised from there. The Eagles had a couple of good scoring chances (they have too much talent not to), but the Gophers played very well defensively and...

    Recruiting Info...

Okay, since Lefty was nice enough to ask, here is what I know about committed recruits for this year and beyond. So far, there are 10 players verbally committed to be Gophers between now and 2016. They are (in order of somewhat projected arrival): -Jack Glover, D, 6-3, 192 USNTDP U-18 -Steve...

Congrats to the women's soccer team!

Lost in all the shuffle and hand-wringing about the football team over the past two weeks has been an impressive recent run by the women's soccer team. They now have won two of their past three games and have two wins over a #13 ranked Michigan on the road and a home win over #7 Penn State...

Volleyball takes down No. 4 Texas in three

Nice to see that the lady Gophers took down No. 4 Texas 3-0 at the Pavilion tonight!! Seems the team is adjusting pretty well to the changeover from coach Hebert to coach Bush to coach McCutcheon...keep up the good work ladies!!!:D

ESPN reporting Tressel suspended two games

So much for Tressel being a clean coach. Got caught red-handed and now, after years of being an NCAA football coach, needs to attend compliance classes. It's amazing how Ohio State seems to be able to break the rules, but get by with the whole "I had no idea what I was doing was wrong" defense...

Women's soccer takes down #20 South Carolina

Just wanted to congratulate coach Denney-Wright and the rest of the Gophers' women's soccer team on their win at #20 South Carolina last night! With the 3-1 win, the ladies now sit at 7-1-1 overall and return home on Sunday to play Illinois State. Keep it rolling!!!

Good weekend showing for baseball, men's and women's track

Well, now that baseball has swept Penn State, they're in first place with one weekend to go. Hopefully the guys can keep it up next weekend in Columbus and take home a Big Ten title. Men's track and field made a it a sweep for both indoor and outdoor Big Ten titles this weekend while the women...

Holy Moses, I'd be curious to see how many folks' brackets' are beyond repair at this point.

    Great, here come the trolls

After the guys start to sag after playing their fourth game in four days, the wolves are already out in force on the forum. Well, they're nothing if not predictable.
  18. M

    Boy, wasn't that predictable?

Hate to be a downer, but you couldn't have scripted a more disappointing way to lose a game than that one. It's just another link in the chain of great luck we've been having all season long.:o:mad::o

    Devon Wright a Gopher!!!

Rivals is reporting that Devon Wright committed to the Gophers this afternoon. I'm not a subscriber, but it is listed on the GopherIllustrated front page as of now. This is a very nice pickup in my opinion. He got some really nice reviews by a few services. ESPN gave him a 79 and I think...

I was perusing prepvolleyball.com and found out that Ashley Wittman has earned yet another honor during her award-filled high school volleyball career. Wittman was one of 50 players to be named their state's player of the year by Gatorade. Congrats go out to Ashley on yet another impressive...
