I agree. You take the all conference team from some of these lower level conferences and you have a pretty solid team. That's our job- find guys like Hawkins, Big Frank and Ken Evans who weren't 3 or 4 stars but really came on strong in a small conference.

I think Mitchell plays 20-25 minutes here- splitting some time with Parker Fox. My guess is that the plan is to post Garcia on the blocks more because he is pretty slick down there, with Mitchell getting garbage buckets on offensive rebounds and also some screen and roll dishes from Hawkins. So...

For the same reason fans would buy season tickets for one coach and not another. Do you think season ticket purchases would have gone up this coming year if we hired Musselman or some other big name coach? Of course they would. It's just reality Pilgrim, people with big money donate big money...

Just adding a little context. I think Mitchell is a good fit, not likely as high end potential as Payne. If he fits well in the team concept- it may work. My expectation is that Mitchell is a better rebounder than Payne, will have more difficulty scoring and may not be the defensive presence...

I hate the hedge but that's a coaching choice. I like his toughness. He's no Payne, but it is a start and probably a good fit as a rebounder. I like what I see of the passing. The kid from Syracuse just towered over him...He may have a hard time getting off shots in the Big Ten.
