POST GAME THREAD!!! Gophers Beat Badgers for 4th Time in 5 Years!!!

You have an excellent and specific memory for anguishing lowlights....as do I.

    Fan culture (students)

It seemed like the kids embraced the weather and that it made the experience even more fun for them. After all, college is about making memories.

    Joe Rossi

But not against us. The Gophers gave hope to many a beleaguered DC this year.

    Snow Day Game

On the subject of Gopher games played in the snow, in 1955 USC came to Memorial Stadium and ran into a late October blizzard. They had a flashy back named Jon Arnett (apologies to older members who know all about him). He did next to nothing that day and a poor Minnesota team scored an upset...

    More John Nestors, please!!!

That play was almost identical to the pick six made by Coleman Bryson 3 years ago in the Pinstripe Bowl vs. Syracuse. I remember he didn't look that fast and I was surprised he scored. I thought Nestor looked pretty fast.

POST GAME THREAD!!! Gophers Beat Badgers for 4th Time in 5 Years!!!

This weather puts the game in a different category. Winning the turnover game 3 to nothing is the very definition of playing well.

Chip: Drake Lindsey’s strong season as starting quarterback gives Gophers something to build around for 2026

Brosmer had 3 extra years of starting college quarterbacking before coming to Minnesota. They really cannot be compared.

Home losses by year post Bierman

Next year it is very likely that we will field a better team that posts a worse record.

Predict the Score Thread: wisconsin at Minnesota

Congratulations to you and others who predicted a Gopher win today. I am so happy your optimism was rewarded! Gotta work on that.

It would be something if Denaburg made the difference in a win!

Predict the Score Thread: wisconsin at Minnesota

Predicting a Wisconsin win is not a sign of disloyalty. Of course, we would LOVE to see a Gopher win but there is ample data to indicate that we are deeply flawed and that the Badgers are improving.

Predict the Score Thread: wisconsin at Minnesota

25 degrees with snow. Not good for Gophers who are a passing team with no running game. Good for Badgers who can run well but not pass. Guys from Madison tougher in trenches. Badgers 24 Gophers 7, just the reverse of last year's game.

    Snow Day Game

That was the game that the Gophers clinched when Brooks ran about 60 yards to score in the last 2 or 3 minutes. It was 17 degrees at kickoff but without a lot of wind it did not feel that cold to me.

    Snow Day Game

The last game at Memorial Stadium. A sad finish for the Brick House.

I was referring to the first kick.nd not the second. Not sure you got the point.

    Snow Day Game

There was a nice dusting in the 2nd half of the 2018 Purdue game. Cashman pulled off a strip-and-score on David Blough just after halftime and, when the snow followed, the Boilers acted like a SoCal team that just wanted to get back on the plane. Gophers 41, Purdue 10

The Law of the Unknown Trajectory

This comes up every year. Some posters are stating or implying that the Gophers would have won yesterday if Denaburg had made his two field goal tries. The truth is that we cannot know this. If he had made the first, the next play would have been a kickoff and the game would have spun off on a...

Who said the program is "fine" with 6 wins and a trip to Detroit?

IF we finish with only 6 wins....

I do not think Malcolm Moos had one thought about the NFL coming to Minnesota. His sole desire/ambition was to take steps toward making the U into a truly elite public institution. Slashing the athletic budget was one of those steps.
