***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT PENN STATE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

My thought was, he was only out there because they wanted to stick with the 4 guards and Garcia lineup but also didn't want Mike Mitchell to get a 5th foul (Williams was subbed in for a defensive possession). But this also did happen.

    Kerwin Walton enters transfer portal

For sure, Texas Tech is really good. I'm mostly just intrigued by how extreme a Just a Shooter player profile he's stayed throughout his career.

    Kerwin Walton enters transfer portal

The Houston game was his most impactful game of the season by a lot (unless you want to count him dropping 7 threes against our friends from Bethune Cookman). Most games against major opponents he's been, yeah, playing about 17 minutes, taking maybe 1 or 2 shots at most, and doing little else.

USC hands Michigan State their first B1G loss of the season.

Big Ten Tournament if it were held today; Gophers currently hold a spot

Agree here. I'll be surprised if the largest spread of the remaining games isn't the UCLA game.

Assuming someone (not necessarily Minnesota) hires Calhoun away in the next year or two, it'd be interesting to do a new Comparable 4 following the careers of "Guys who used Utah State as a launching pad".

Indiana is one of the clearest examples of how having tons of NIL only gets you so far if you have terrible coaching.

    Cochran update - "tangible progress"

Yep, it was Cal Poly. He later ended up using his final year at Santa Clara and actually played against the Gophers in that 2018 November MTE in Vancouver (freshman Kalscheur hit 7 of 12 threes in that Santa Clara game and then, of course, hit the winner in the Washington game).

Been thinking for a bit that presumably we aren't going to get the same amount of teeth gnashing we did last year about how few bids the Big East gets this time around. I do feel sympathy for our Marquette Gopher friend since they're going to be dodging more seed-deflating landmines in league...

Maybe somewhat overlooked since Hawkins is at TT now too, but I'm amused that Kerwin Walton (in his 5th year) was one shot attempt and one rebound away from just doing 18 minutes of cardio today.

Post Portal Big Ten Tourney Double-Bye Teams

I'll put my marker down on UCLA - not sure about top 4 overall, but for among the 4 newcomers. I don't like Skyy Clark much but I think their other additions are pretty good. UCLA isn't a traditional B1G style program, but I've always thought Mick Cronin would fit pretty well in the league as a...

Think he was only at Missouri the one year; he was with Niko for four years prior - was on the CSU '22 tournament team (guess he's got/will get a waiver for barely playing this past year).

Looking over the lists on VerbalCommits compared to the transfer-in numbers above, looks like I'd missed a few guys coming into ex-P12 teams. UCLA Eric Dailey, Jr. (from Oklahoma State) USC Joshua Cohen (from Massachusetts) Bryce Pope (from UC San Diego) Clark Slajchert (from Penn) Washington...
