All Things 2023-2024 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

I should just count the days until Vikings training camp opens but what the hell? I just jumped on the bandwagon. Another couple of days of MN sports misery won't kill me. So anyway, looking ahead to next year: What's KAT's trade value? And what do you trade him for? Is anyone going to...

He's also a liability because Denver knows that he has no role in the offensive. Jokic can play 20 feet away from him. Where do you put him on offense where he isn't clogging the lane? The defense doesn't bother to follow him out or if he does, slumps off to effectively double Ant.

All Things 2023-2024 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

How does this team get better? KAT can't be the second best player on a championship team. And while Gobert is a great defensive player he's an offensive liability. The team with the most points still wins and this team doesn't have a second consistent scorer when it needs three more above...

I get he can make a difference defensively but Denver can ignore him on the offensive end. And Denver is still shooting >50% anyway.

All Things 2024 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

I agree. Interior of both lines and defensive backfield have questions that haven't been addressed. This is all setting up for 2025 when those holes can be plugged in free agency. The Vikings can manipulate their cap space in 2025 somewhat, too, by trading back with their first round pick.

    Disillusionment

I was a grade school wrestler and a park basketball player with my friends. I was at a wrestling tournament in Worthington in 1990 and won a handheld radio on a raffle in the middle of the tournament and started scanning up and down the dial to see what I could tune in. The best signal was Ray...

Is this the Next evolution of NIL - Corporate Sponsors (FedEx Inks Deal)

Of all things - other than Congress - the IRS is the body with the ability to reign in NIL profligacy. Surely there are appraisers or actuaries out that that can quantify the marketing value of 3rd string QBs, walk on O-lineman and honorable mention all conference running backs. Do any of...

Is this the Next evolution of NIL - Corporate Sponsors (FedEx Inks Deal)

Fed Ex is a private company but it isn't privately held. Shareholders should be pissed about this.

    Gophers vs. Tommies

That's a big assumption (Tommie Ascendecy in the Summit). They didn't win the Summit in a very down year. SDSU, NDSU et al aren't going to get worse. I believe I heard on the radio this morning that the Tommies new arena that everyone is geeked out about (that gets them only on par with the...

Oklahoma AD has gone crazy, wants an off campus basketball arena / facilities ... with a $1B entertainment district development ...

I'd be ok if Golden Gopher athletics relocated to, say, Apple Valley, Chaska, St. Cloud. Maybe this Sooner is on to something.

I'm not a hockey guy but from the sounds of it, Mariucci is about twice the size that it really needs now.

Oklahoma AD has gone crazy, wants an off campus basketball arena / facilities ... with a $1B entertainment district development ...

This might be the first time that a University has threatened to relocate its athletics programs. Also of interest, the proposed arena would only seat 8,000. I don't know what Oklahoma's basketball attendance has been historically but this seems to continue the trend towards smaller arenas...

Shama: Glen Taylor: Equity Group Not in Place for Wolves Sale

The ESPN article noted that Taylor had always protected himself very well in his business dealings and the "source" indicated that Taylor had a number of offramps built into the sale agreement. I don't think this is a case of Luca Brasi holding a gun to Arod/Lore's collective head while Don...
