Point well made. I'm sure I'm being too hard on her. I just watched some of her highlights and she had some nice passes. But I wouldn't want a point guard that didn't have 6 or more assists a game. I think that's a key to an elite team.

I don't think that's the reality. I think that's the hype, the tattoo's, and the Hopkins pizazz. I think the reality is: She's not a good outside shooter, and she isn't much of a passer--not much vision. She averages 3 assists a game, and she's passing to two power 5 DI players. Assists...

    B1G Game 16: Gophers Visit Northwestern (2-18-23)

Not a whole lot of basketball being played. A lot of activity, but not a lot of basketball. Not much teamwork.

HHe Curious how you got McGill's stats. The basketball hub only has points for a lot of schools. Is there a webpage with Hopkins stats? For other team's stats, other than what's on the hub? Would love to find these stats. I'm frustrated that most programs don't post stats other than...

    B1G Game 12: Gophers Visit Illinois (2-5-23)

What I saw with about a minute to go, down 2, was Gradwell going under a screen for a wide open Illini shot, a turnover, and an airball. We consciously or more likely subconsciously chose not to try to win. Someone needs to step up as a leader on the floor.

    B1G Game 10: Gophers Host Michigan (1-29-23)

The super seniors spent 4 years proving they're role-players at mid-level programs. Don't know why coaching thought they could contribute a whole lot in the big 10. Playing the walk-ons goes counter to the 'trust the system', 'wait until next year' narrative. The walk-ons could potentially be...

When does the seat become hot?

There is no 'next year' nowdays. Next year you might have a completely different team. Your players might all leave, or you might go to the portal and get impact players. I'm not feeling a happy ending here: 1) For some reason we go to the portal and get players that don't help. 2) We're...

Oops, Heyer is definitely a shooter.

    B1G Game 7: Gophers Host Illinois (1-15-23)

Oh and... the Illinois posts didn't do a thing. We get 24 & 14 from Rose and we still can't win. You gotta look at our guards and wonder.

    B1G Game 7: Gophers Host Illinois (1-15-23)

A couple observations: Mara doesn't get open because she doesn't use the picks. She gets a lot of picks but goes around the pick wide so the defender can get through. A good pick, at this level, requires risking an offensive call every time. The timing has to be just right. The picker needs...

    22-23 Season Part 1 Grade

I'm giving the transfers a D-. When they were brought-in I observed these players have spent the past four years proving they are not Big 10 players. No stats to speak-of. They get here and guess what--they aren't Big 10 players. If you average the stats for the four players, over a 36...

    22-23 Season Part 1 Grade

I suspect we didn't necessairly play great defense Q1 of NDSU & Presbyterian. Rather I think our opponents were shell-shocked by playing a Big 10 team. Once they got over that both teams started scoring on us.

Game 4: Gophers Host Presbyterian (11-20-22)

My thoughts: A) Need more 3-point shooting, or teams will be able to sag into the paint on Rose. Not a great shooting team, which will hurt when defense tightens in the Big 10. B) Defense is getting better but occasionally I see low IQ plays. Low IQ is hard to fix. C) Czinano has come from...
