Fleck a was just outcoached, outplayed and outadjusted by the first-time head coach of a 2-7 team. This is pound for pound one of the most talented rosters UMN has ever had. The writing is on the wall… even as a Fleck supporter, if we ever want to get serious again we fire him. Plain and simple.
All have more effective total offenses than ours (save for Iowa of course). Northwestern is too but Mike Bajakian’s salary isn’t available anywhere to reference.

Moreover, this offensive roster is not the third worst in the Big Ten.
Wasn’t aware - that’s awesome. But with Harbaugh it’s like putting lipstick on a pig. I guess my point is it’s confusing why we don’t we pay out a proven talent from the get-go, versus promoting a MAC tight ends coach to not only call plays, but coach the highest-touted QB in program history.

Can someone explain to me like I’m stupid why we find the money to extend Fleck year over year, yet we can’t scrape enough together to pay an above-average OC? Heck, I’d even take mediocre.

6 returning pass catchers, with great incoming talent.
All catching balls from Athan.
While our need for LBs aligns with the signing and the new coach at WMU will create a lot of roster turnover there, I think the background isn’t a coincidence at all. Fleck most certainly still has strong ties WMU, and I’d put money on his strong rapport with legacy Broncos players from his last...
Loving the WMU transfers and their potential, just hoping fleck doesn’t play favorites with them regardless of their performance (like he did with Tanner). They need to earn their minutes.
My thoughts:
- Start building our 2023 offense around Athan NOW. We’ve already seen his impact in the transfer portal in the signing of Markus Allen - I would go after one more receiver in the TP, preferably a speedster. The playbook needs to move away from run-first, especially given the...
If you were Fleck or Coyle and had the “keys to the kingdom” this offseason, what moves would you make? ( i.e. offensive/defensive scheme adjustments, transfer portal acquisitions, hirings (especially if we lose Burns), gameday improvements, etc.)
