Post Game Thread: Gophers BEAT Bielema!!! Win 4 Straight!!

Trying to figure out how he got to be a freshman star if he's not good enough for the "varsity".

Who is your Gophers MVP in the big win at Illinois?

It's not an award for offense, defense, or special teams. What individual player made the biggest impact on the win? Today it was without question DT.

Brosmer is the best QB we have had in 20 years .....

His accuracy was not up to his norm during the first three quarters. Just a little off. He finished strong and the deep ball he dropped into Jackson on the left side line was a thing of beauty, as well as the catch. The only knock on Max is his foot speed.

Scoggins: Now that P.J. Fleck has a QB he can trust, it’s a whole new ballgame for Gophers

The focus on the passing game is an offensive strategy triggered by the acquisition of Brosmer. The running game will be a continuing focus yet because the purpose of the offense is to be balanced and force the defense to cover the whole field. The glitch is simply the shocking fall off at...

You want a "magic number" for Gophers to hear name called on Selection Sunday? Go with 22

Competetive last year, won more games and went to the NIT. Solid progress. If we go to the NIT again Coyle will probably consider whether we were NCAA bubble level. But I don't believe for a minute Coyle has delivered a tournament or gone ulitmatum. No AD would unless he knew exactly who he...

No. 1 recruit AJ Dybantsa is expected to land an NIL package north of $3M and could get as high as $4M. BYU prepared to pay “4 to $4.5M"

There is of course a lot of money being kept from the players because of priorities. The players had no standing in priorities while increased revenues are sunk into expanding bureacracies.

***OFFICIAL HAMLINE AT MINNESOTA EXHIBITION IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

For those who could watch the two scrimmages, does anyone think Grove is strong enough to play defense and rebound in the post? Can he help us while Frank heals?

P.J. Fleck 'really excited' about where Gophers football stands with NIL

The portal is a positive in more parity. You have the opportunity every year to improve your team. Most highly recruited freshman don't contribute much the first year or two. Really good portal guys contribute from Day 1. Fleck has consistently replaced those leaving in the portal with better...

You want a "magic number" for Gophers to hear name called on Selection Sunday? Go with 22

What defines progress is competitiveness. That usually translates into more wins, sometimes not. The only people who have an exact number of wins or tournament level as the fire/stay point are posting here. That is not how Coyle is evaluating the program.

His job doesn't rest on the four year record. Years 1 & 2 have already been written off. He will be judged on trajectory. Stagnant probably means he's gone. But if this year shows continued progress, he stays.

Gopher Ranking Thread- Gophers ARE NOW RANKED #25 CFN Poll

How do you figure two special teams plays? The special teams executed the onside kick perfectly in the Michigan game and recovered the ball well into Michigan territory with 1:36 to play. The still camera shot directly down the line clearly showed Kingsbury was at least six inches behind the...

    Koi Perich Gopher records watch

Off topic, but the one that got away because we were so far behind in NIL was Bucky. I bring him up because I live in the Tampa TV market and all Bucs games are on here. Bucky defies description. His moves in traffic put Barry Sanders in awe. You've got him right in front of you and go in to...

That's what makes him even more amazing. Not where he was born and raised but how he could reach such athletic heights playing that level of competition.

Brosmer really hitting his stride - 1st 4 vs. last 4

I definitely think he will go after a QB in the portal. We absolutely need an experienced backup in case the starter goes down.

Brosmer really hitting his stride - 1st 4 vs. last 4

A red shirt freshman three star who has stood out with coaches in spring and fall practice. And one who is learning at the side of the master, Max Brosmer. Never underestimate the value of that.

Brosmer really hitting his stride - 1st 4 vs. last 4

I don't think the problem is Drake giving up and transferring. The problem is finding a starting quality guy with one year remaining wanting to risk competing with Drake. Lindsey already has a reputation. Obvious physical skills and well-established as the heir apparent.

Brosmer really hitting his stride - 1st 4 vs. last 4

I am not disagreeing with keeping options open and exploring multiple possibilities. All good coaches will do that, PJ included. But as good as Max was at FCS, he had only one goal. Start and play every game. Minnesota was his perfect fit and he was promised the starting job. Finding a guy...

Brosmer really hitting his stride - 1st 4 vs. last 4

You are talking about a transfer from a Power 4 school. I agree, try to get him. But Max came out of FCS and that is where most will come from. If you played three years at FCS and you think you are good enough to play Big Ten, you look for a Minnesota '24 situation where they will hand you...
