To spur a rural rebound, one Minnesota county is paying college athletes to promote it.

USA Today… Max Brosmer is used to spending his Saturdays starring on turf, not ice. So the starting quarterback for the University of Minnesota was recently a bit out of his element on a frozen lake three hours from the Twin Cities. Yet it was no accident that the Big Ten athlete ended up...

RandBall: Pessimism? Nah. Now the best Gophers teams can compete in College Football Playoff

Pro’s and Con’s to everything. If someone smarter than me had the answer to everything wouldn't be any argument or we be North Korea. I just enjoy watching gopher football. A Rose Bowl would have been nice though.

QB Max Brosmer of New Hampshire commits to the Gophers

Max and Logan Ritcher did a meet and greet in Perham yesterday. Was able to attend, very respectable guys. Gentlemen who runs the NIL events for the county is an avid fisherman, glad to see him getting them out. And yes bison fans outnumber gopher fans 50-1 in these parts. But attendance was...

Hire a coach from FCS and pay him ~$2MM & use savings for NIL?

My thoughts exactly the other week when PJ was complaining about MN not keeping up on NIL. Take at minimum the $1mil raise you got last year of your $6+mil salary and divide it per 85 scholarship kids they have about $12k each. He can easily be a top funder for this as most fans are not one...

A Lot of nebby fans by me in 131, and they stood the entire time, but overall great experience with the ups and downs In the game for kiddos, mostly a lot of good camaraderie. Besides one annoying drunk neb guy.

Power ranking all 18 Big Ten football programs after latest expansion news

Problem is there is no relation to said ranking. Is it all time, a moment in time, or now? Regardless disagree with 12.

    Professor Fleck

Same. Fun stuff like that didn’t happen, but appreciated the free lunch daily from some large company trying to recruit workers in my college days. Went to Carlson, classes range from 10 kids to maybe 200; mostly small 40 or less but was some larger rooms for sure.

Are We Headed Towards 4 Conferences?

Hate it. All for some mix up to out of conference scheduling of other P5 and love bowl games to also have the chance to play those teams (even for how meaningless they are vs the old days). But why would any school besides the blue bloods agree to try and win a conference of 16-24 teams just...

    NIL

Correct. Non-profit. Just found it very interesting. However the guy who runs it is a County employee (as are some of their board) and I assume most of their funds come from the County as well.
