Gophers' Selection Sunday "Magic Number" Is 21

Maybe we can do what Seattle U did and beat Stanford.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA VS SAN FRANCISCO IN SOUTH DAKOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Yeah, I know. I'm saying I think this team is better than that one was. I also think this years WCC is a lot better than the league was 2 seasons ago. Should be a fun league to monitor.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA VS SAN FRANCISCO IN SOUTH DAKOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I do think this San Francisco team has a better chance to make the tournament than the one a couple years ago that blew us out that didn't come particularly close. If we hadn't looked like shit against Green Bay and Chicago State I wouldn't be too concerned, but we did.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA VS SAN FRANCISCO IN SOUTH DAKOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Their guards are just a lot better than ours are. 2 kids recruited out of HS, a part time starter at Portland, and someone who couldn't get off the bench at Oregon. Our best guard is also unplayable down the stretch if we do happen to be leading bc he can't make a FT Looks like the next win...

Game times and TV announced for Gophers season

I'm wondering if it's also going to be on ESPN+? I subscribe to that. Their SECN+ football games are on ESPN+ so I am hoping this is as well. I don't have B1G+.

Game times and TV announced for Gophers season

I was surprised by that to in regards to the Missouri game. There isn't another P5/P5 SEC matchup that night.

Executives are inching closer to agreement to expand NCAA tournament to 76 teams with a 12-game “opening round” played at two sites starting in 26-27

There are going to be some bad teams make it if it gets expanded to 76. I mean I'll watch the additional games because I'm a diehard, but it's about as meh as you can get. We're going to see teams at or below .500 get in, I'd have to guess. I wonder if this will also incentivize teams to play...

    Gophers 2025-26 non-con schedule news

    Gophers 2025-26 non-con schedule news

Wasn't sure where to put this, but all 18 men's teams are invited to the B1G tournament for 2026.

    Gophers 2025-26 non-con schedule news

Yep. He'll be a tough matchup, but I think our frontcourt will have enough diversity that they'll be able to slow him down a little.

    Gophers 2025-26 non-con schedule news

Should all be respectable next season. And I'd guess top 100 teams. So a couple Q2 opportunities at the worst. Out of the 3 I think SLU will probably be the best so hopefully we get them at least once.

    Gophers 2025-26 non-con schedule news

San Francisco on a neutral is probably another Q2 opportunity. Gives us Missouri, San Fran and the acrisure series as hopefully at least 4 Q2 opportunities. Missouri should be a q1.

    Gophers 2025-26 non-con schedule news

Should be a couple Q2 opportunities, I'd think. SLU I think will be improved in year 2 of Schertz IMO.

What Should I Expect This Season?

IMO, I think after Purdue, Michigan and UCLA, the rest of the league will be pretty wide open, and slightly down from last year. I can see Wisconsin, MSU and MD taking a step back from being top 15 teams, and I'm not sure there's anyone to step in take over being a top 15 team outside of UCLA...

    Gophers 2025-26 non-con schedule news

So if I have it correct, our 3 known opponents so far finished 306, 325 and 332 in KenPom? Hoping we get good opponents in the MTE we are in.

Will you still be invested at the same level of fandom for men’s college hoops in the future as you are currently, based on all the changes now??

I still love CBB, but it's definitely not the same as it used to be. I'd say peak CBB was the 90's and early 2000's. This year there were only 4 mid major schools that received a #10 seed or better (not including Gonzaga). As a point of reference in 1998 there were ELEVEN! And take a look at...

    2025 Transfer Portal Watch

He started 34 games on a team that was a 9 seed. He's definitely a legitimate B1G starter quality.
