Shooter: Perich’s $250,000 name, image and likeness (NIL) deal this season should at least double for the Gophers football star’s sophomore season.

Not saying he isn't worth it, also not saying he is. My question is, where can I find what KP is actually getting paid for use of his NAME/IMAGE/LIKENESS? I haven't seen any of that anywhere, not in media, not in print, not anywhere. Same is true for any of these NIL athletes, any sport, any...

I agree with Gopher68....this wasn't about money.... though now she stands to make a lot from it. I think a lot will be shown from where she ends up. If it's anywhere but somewhere in Cali or Arizona, then yes, it's about money. What will really irritate me is if she ends up at Nebraska...her...

Because nothing means less than fall ball. Especially if you are the reigning B10 player of the year.

Not saying this is verified, but rumor has it that Jess Oakland is leaving the program. Big loss if true.

I would imagine that the endowed scholarships would still exist. They would probably go to the player(s) that would normally be the highest of recruits. As for MBB,VB, and MHoc.....you are missing the point. This is about money, not programs. They want all the money to go to FB, but have to...

Nope. There has been serious discussions of creating tiers within each athletic department. Tier 1 would be (at MN) football and women’s basketball. Everyone else will be tier 4. Tier 1 would have access to full scholarships for the entire roster as well as the entire NIL/NCAA settlement and...

I was in attendance this weekend. Based on my knowledge of what fall ball is, and the competition we played. Absolutely nothing should be gleaned from the weekend. Susa only pitched in the alumni game. All the other pitchers pitched vs DMACC. One positive on the pitching....although could...

Highly unlikely. Word has it the athletic department has had serious discussions about moving all sports except football and women's basketball to Tier 4....vs tier 1 for FB and WBB. Tier 4 means all teams will have no scholarships available to the team. NIL is going to kill college sports...

You obviously don’t know the rule. She doesn’t replant and push she lands. The ball is out. Also the leaving the rubber and getting airborne was a rule change this year. To think if it were that obvious the umpires would have called it. Also Enter is done. No portal as a 5th year senior.

Team was tied for the conference lead in batting average, led the B10 in fielding. Are there times when hitting went cold, sure. Losing players to the portal isn't something they can control. If someone wants out, they will leave. And just an FYI....our softball NIL is terrible...

So, to understand this: The team loses their #1 and #2 pitchers, still is able to manage a 5th place finish in the B10. Tell me which teams in the B10 could handle losing their top two pitchers and still compete at a high level. Obviously, there are things that need work...all teams have...

I have not spoken to anyone I attribute it to body language. Case in point: game yesterday (I attended) 5th inning, 2 outs Oakland on first down 5-0 Krapf hits a pop down the first base line could have been within a foot of either being fair or foul She walked about half way to first and...

This is bad. Combined with our inflated batting totals considering who we have played. Everytime we see a quality #1 we can barely hit. Happened against Indiana with Klieman, happened with Wyche at Maryland, happened with Boyd at Rutgers, even happened with Magnanimo at Wisconsin. So we...

I don't disagree with this...but how many teams since 2000 have made it to the WCWS from the B10? Should have known the chances walking in.

I've been off the grid a little and haven't paid attention to everything that is going on but here are some things I'm thinking/seeing. 1. As much as we as fans want to place "blame" on the shortcomings of the team, why can't it be that maybe we aren't as good as we thought they were going to...

Again maybe the problem isn’t the pitching. No hit through 6 to a very average WI team. This is a team issue. Not position specific. It’s an average team.

I wouldn't characterize it as uninspired. OSU is not a good team. They have given up 18 to WI in the first two games this weekend. The teams we have beaten in the B10.... Illinois and OSU are the second to worst teams in the B10....only MIchigan State is worse, and we lost to them. This...

    Gopher Softball 2024

Last weekend was good...not great. While I am encouraged by the comeback win and grittiness of the squad, I think we also need to be able to see that it might not be as great as it seems. Ohio State is in the bottom 3 of pitching for the season in the B10, and last in pitching when it is viewed...

Knowing a few coaches and knowing what they feel. The B10 is important, but the NCAA tournament is the goal...always. Goal #1 and it isn't close. If all they cared about was the B10, you wouldn't see the the preseason scheduling the way it is. You wouldn't see the concern with RPI. Goal #1...
