Came to the realization a long time ago there is a ceiling for this program. I am good with getting to a bowl game on an annual basis / semi annual basis. Under the current regime the program has been competitive. Not sure there is anything to be disappointed about.

Probably obvious but this squad looks they are going to struggle in conference play.

Bad coaching and a lack of talent are a lethal combination.

You get what you put into the program. Administration has invested in the football program. For whatever reason they have decided that investing in the basketball program at the same level is not worth it. This goes farther than who the coach is.

It will be highly surprising if Johnson is fired during the season. If this year goes off the rails I would bet Johnson does not get a 5th year.

Depending on how this season ends up and if it ends up badly the question that should be asked is why give Ben Johnson another chance to rebuild it?
