Ben Jacobsen would have been a viable candidate 10-12 years ago. Talk of him being a candidate now is ridiculous. If Jacobsen is introduced as the new head coach Coyle should be fired immediately after it is announced.

As a fan we all have unrealistic expectations. Last time I wanted Coyle to go after Anthony Grant or Dennis Gates. Have no clue if Grant was even approached but IIRC the reporting was Gates declined to interview. Nothing wrong with taking your swing but Minnesota is an ok job not a great job...

Some of the same people who wanted Coyle to fire the head coach which he did also think Coyle will screw up the hiring of the next coach. Then why fire the current head coach if you’re just going to screw up the new hire? 🤔 GHole never change. You provide endless entertainment.

My assumption based on how fast this announcement happened that the hiring of a new head coach has been in the works for a while and unless something changes the choice for next head coach has already been made.
