I think a guard that can drive to the hoop is a HUGE bonus for Payne. Even if the guard doesn't finish, Payne's defender will likely need to slide over to contest, that leaves a ton of cleanup put backs for Payne. Gophers never really had a player that could drive to the hoop last year.

Might not be the right thread, but I really think the offense could make a big step up, if Battle would drive. Several times he got his man to jump out on the perimeter and instead of driving he side stepped and backed up to try to shoot a 3. Go to the hoop, get fouled or drop it off to Payne...

I may be wrong, but it seem like Thompson has a really hard time actually securing the rebound (along with a lot of the guys) he gets a lot of tips, he hits it with one hand, but can't come down with it.

I'd move Nate Mason to #4 and I'd have Murphy at #1, if we're going by Gopher career.

My thoughts: Cooper: going to be more than an average PG, love his patience and vision. hope he comes back for another year. Payne: has the size and strength to play already, he will figure out how not to get those off the ball fouls Henley: looks like he may be able to give Cooper a break...
