Former Gophers DB Brock Vereen to call today's game for BTN

Overall, the BTN broadcasts seem to be much better this year. They've come a long way. And Brock is fun to listen to - definitely has good energy and seems excited to be on the call.

    Colorado 17.5 dogs to USAF

Air Force runs it 90% of the time. Colorado D-Line and LBs are going to be softened up a bit before they get run over next week.

Fun: Big Ten Coaches React To Throwback Pictures of Themselves

Ferentz was the best. Mullet long enough he could tie it up behind his head to clean it up for a picture for his mom.

    Week 2 Other Games Thread

Curious to see how Colorado tries to defend the run against Air Force. AF ran it 62 times in a blowout win against UNI.

Spartan DL doesn't look huge, but they are very aggressive and flying around. Ersery will definitely need to be on his game to contain that right DE.

Washington to possibly join the Big Ten

That's what I meant. Right now, a quick Stubhub search shows cheapest ticket for Mich St game is $75, but the next 4 games of Stanford, AZ Wild Wildcats, Oregon St and Col all start at $25-35.

Washington to possibly join the Big Ten

I live in Seattle and there are alot of Minnesota and other Midwest transplants here. U of Wash joining the B1G would generate a lot of buzz locally and draw fans to live events. Definitely much more than Arizona teams and even Colorado. Rutgers probably not as much but for the rest of the...

    NEB vs NW Game Thread

He looked solid the first half, made some nice throws and kept the play alive with his legs, but is not the ground threat Martinez was (and probably don't want him to be). Second half Northwestern brought a lot more backside pressure and he couldn't feel it, took a few sacks and got rattles...

    NEB vs NW Game Thread

I think I saw that both starting corners for Northwestern have left the game. Neb could start running away with this if Northwestern can't sustain scoring drives.

Odd thought on USC/UCLA and the U

Going to Oregon and Washington is that much of a concern. For the once every 6 yrs or so the Gophers play there, people will make a trip out of it for sure. The plus side is that flying into Mpls is easy for their fans to come visit us. Less so for Madison, Iowa City, Champaign, etc.

Odd thought on USC/UCLA and the U

I go to Petoskey's several times a year. It's great, and I have a good time, but would be open to options. I live across the Puget Sound so after ferries and Uber or driving its a good hour plus to get there. If UW joins maybe there will be a B1G bar right downtown. ALOT of Midwest...

2024 Detroit Lakes LB Mason Carrier picks up Gophers offer

His brother Ethan (2023) received a PWO offer as well. They were half of the Detroit Lakes 4 x 100 relay team competing at the stat meet, and both competing in the 100m with Ethan actually besting Mason (4th and 7th respectively). Not only great athletes, but quality people from a great family.

Away game tickets, where you headed in 2022?

Mich St for me. Never been, and moving it to late September when they did the schedule change was the clincher. Spending almost a whole week to experience Michigan in the fall. I booked my hotel right when they did the change and got really reasonable rates at a Marriott Fairfield Inn for...

Memphis athletics launches cutting-edge NIL marketplace following change to Tennessee law; hires "student-athlete branding and image coordinator"

This is a really solid idea. I think the U should check into it (not sure what state laws would need to be changed). One addition to it could very having student athletes with related degrees (sports management, marketing, business administration) help run it as a cooperative work study of sorts.
