Wow! Jerry Kill is stepping down as head coach at New Mexico State.

Why does anyone keep giving this classy guy a job? Lol what a clown.

Who were your favorite players from the Brewster/Kill eras?

Wozniak had the hands of a lobster. Useless in the receiving game. Loved watching M. Gray. Very few, if any, other athletes played on offense for the Gophs in the last few decades that could break a play and just plain beat any athlete on the other side of the ball. Wish there would have been a...

Lol that is the Gopher DL every year.

Tracy Claeys - What’s he doing now?

It is good that the Kill/Claeys era is over as they were not succeeding here. A win over WSU in a bowl (bowl games mean less and less every year) is less meaningful than any regular season conference or P5 win. It is not disrespectful or hateful or anything else to be glad for a coaching...

Tracy Claeys - What’s he doing now?

This dude was a competent DC for a short while and people are still lathered up about him - wild. And not being able to work with others (just let me do my own thing!) is a problem at the D1 level. You have bosses here and working within their frameworks is part of the job. If you can't do...

AP article on players who moved on from Colorado after being cut by Sanders

Being outlandish and/or doing things others won’t do because of their moral/ethical standards isn’t “genius”. It’s main character syndrome combined with a sincere lack of caring how actions impact others. Dude was a great CB but that’s it.

    Time to ditch the RPO!

No he wasn’t. We just insisted a large slow guy with no momentum was our best bet.

    Time to ditch the RPO!

lol what? Gray was a legit NFL talent on athleticism alone. Leidner was like watching your dad do a vertical jump. Get out of here with lumping these players together.

    Time to ditch the RPO!

No I don’t know offenses well which is what I stated. I am an average high school level player. Most posters here know way less than they want to admit. But I can watch the games and see how slow and incompetent things are. Your offensive theory is great, I’m all in. Except that the Gophs have...

    Time to ditch the RPO!

No it was really bad with Leidner due to how bad (molasses) he was as a runner. You want to run RPO get a Streveler or a Gray (thought AK may be able to run but was wrong).

    Time to ditch the RPO!

I’m not sophisticated enough in offensive schemes to say RPO is fully bunk but egad man it is slow and boring and predictable and MN doesn’t have the athletes to always “let things develop” and then make reads. Feels like it leads to a lot of 3-5 yard losses or zero gains when running. Then...

Former Gopher coach Jerry Kill becomes first NMSU coach to defeat a SEC opponent.

Not advocating that either. Again Fleck isn’t relevant in acknowledging Kill’s incompetence.

No I wouldn’t tolerate boring and bad football for years on end without question even if it’s delivered with a gee golly, propeller beanie, bashful dwarf, good ol’ boy schtick.

Former Gopher coach Jerry Kill becomes first NMSU coach to defeat a SEC opponent.

He can’t win anywhere with any staff. If he could he would be hired by a P5 program. He couldn’t even win here with the staff of his choosing. You are materially overestimating his competence.

Former Gopher coach Jerry Kill becomes first NMSU coach to defeat a SEC opponent.

Why are you referencing Fleck? I keep saying that isn’t relevant. Kill being a failure is completely divorced from Fleck. I am not a Fleck fan, but Kill was obviously incapable of the job, both in health and in competence. I agree this season is a failure but that is completely predictable...

Former Gopher coach Jerry Kill becomes first NMSU coach to defeat a SEC opponent.

Lol what is your deal dude? Do you hate Fleck or love Kill or all of the above or what? As said previously, this weird hyper-obsession with a failed B1G coach that had serious attitude problems while employed is jumping the shark mate. And acknowledging Kill’s failure is not advocating Fleck...

    Gutless Playcalling

We have more starters available then most teams. This can’t be a crutch. I’m not calling for regime change but injuries are too far fetched when you have competitors in much worse shape performing as well or better.

Former Gopher coach Jerry Kill becomes first NMSU coach to defeat a SEC opponent.

Knowing Kill was a loser doesn’t make one a Fleck advocate. A change had to happen - Kill was a drag on an already abysmal program. It is cringey how many Kill posts are being put up. It’s weird and off-putting this hyper-fetish for a guy that already had his shot and failed.

    Jerry Kill

This thread is titled “Jerry Kill”. Knowing Kill was not up to the task as Gophers coach is not synonymous with being a Fleck champion. Jerry Kill was unimpressive as coach here and, even if you don’t like the current coach, Kill needed to go (probably even earlier than he did) to give the...
