St. Thomas Looking to Buy T&C for New Arena

The business school is there too. One of UST's selling points for their MBA is making it easy for downtown workers being connected to the skyway so I don't think it's going away. There's still ~3 acres of undeveloped land/parking garage downtown for a small med school if they want that. The...

    International Gopher Football Game?

UST used to (maybe still does?) have scrimmages in Winnipeg against a university up there. Half the game played CFL rules, half NCAA. There's some NCAA rule saying you can get essentially a free game once every couple years if you play there. Similar to the Hawaii rule, but not an official game...

MinnPost has an idea: PJ to the Vikings... 😱

KFAN and SKOR North would have an existential crisis if this happened. How could they constantly propagandize everything about the Vikings while simultaneously insulting their coach?

    Trophy tales

I don't necessarily mind the bell even though there isn't a real rivalry there - it's much better than the Freedom Trophy, Heroes Trophy, etc - but I wish they'd rebuild it and make it a bit nicer this time. It looks like a fake bell someone picked up at Ax Man mounted to a piece of plywood...

Has Any Player Officially Opted Out of Bowl Game...?

On the radio show today PJ said there are no players opting out for the bowl game.

    Are we good at linebacker?

I'm surprised Claeys wasn't hired, but somehow not surprised that both the OC and DC are from Kansas. There's nothing Jerry likes more than Kansans.

    14-3 to 9-7 is a big step backwards…

Yard don't matter if you don't score. Nebraska is averaging almost 460 yards per game yet they just fired most of their offensive staff.

    14-3 to 9-7 is a big step backwards…

With all the experience we have on offense I agree our performance has been disappointing. Bowling Green in particular - scoring 10 points against a team averaging nearly 40 points allowed against FBS competition outside our game. My goal though wasn't so much to excuse Sanford's performance...

    14-3 to 9-7 is a big step backwards…

W-L doesn't solely fall on the OC and it's disingenuous to portray it that way. If you look at average points Sanford has given us 27.1 per game vs. 31.8 for KC. That isn't insignificant, but I'm not sure it's a huge difference either. And if you look at the same first 16 games that's also 27.1...

    Contract Extension for Fleck

Am I going dyslexic or does that contract say $1.5M, not $5.1M?

Is Minnesota still alive for CFP?

If they took a 2 loss OSU that lost to us in the championship this would seriously destroy the credibility of the playoff. However, if it's the case that we go undefeated the rest of the year I seriously doubt there's a scenario where either we or OSU makes the playoff.

Are CrAB and Wright healthy yet?

Geary was hurt just before the OSU game and is out for the year.

Fleck: “That was culture over skill.”

That's a similar take to Souhan in the paper today. This is more directed at Jim than you since your take is significantly more nuanced than his, but in my opinion it's just looking for the negative in what was meant to be a positive statement. Like a middle schooler overthinking everything...

How does the offensive become effective against Nebraska?

I think Morgan will have a good day tomorrow. There have been a lot of bad dropped passes so far this year that have really brought down his completion percentage. When passes are so uncommon as they've been so far that really kills drives. Having both his top receivers to work with should help.

Trey Potts - UPDATED With Statement from the U

The be fair to Oregon Gopher, that was posted before a lot of the other details came out in this thread. I re-watched the ending (again) and it looks like there was a helmet to helmet hit near the Purdue sideline prior to his last carry at the 6:23 mark. He seemed to shake his head and grab at...

Trey Potts - UPDATED With Statement from the U

Agreed. Violence and injuries are accepted facts in a game like football, but seeing someone carted off with no obvious reason related to the game is a scary thing and I think we were all just concerned for him.

Trey Potts - UPDATED With Statement from the U

Along those same lines of not adding much to the discussion aside from speculation... on the second down play at 2:43 remaining he's standing right behind the down marker, starts to stumble while being supported by a couple (what I assume are) trainers, and you can see one of them on a walkie...
