Fleck needs to examine every facet of this program

Well it took until the last game of the year, but the punt and kick return games seemed reasonable today. I miss the old days where you could bring in a Damien Wilson or De'Vondre Campbell to suddenly make the LB corp one of the better in the big ten.

Describe the Gophers loss to Badgers in 1 sentence

Gopher Seniors do not go out with the win they deserved

Yes for sure. I still think if he would have played vs Purdue, Purdue might have punted a few times. He is a huge factor.

Post Game Thread: Gophers Look Abysmal in Home Loss to Badgers

I don't know why the offense can look fluid and decent like on the two TD drives and then look so constipated on other drives. I know Wisconsin's front 7 outplayed the Gophers, but some of the pass plays were obvious like 3rd and 8 and then Athan didn't typically make good throws or decisions.

Official 2024 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

Key guys that I hope stay: Offense: D Jackson A Ersery Athan because we need him and the staff needs to develop him during the offseason Freshman OL Johnson Defense: Wally Joyner Really everyone as the defense had zero depth this year (capable of playing well)

From The Gopher Gridiron podcast it sounds like it takes upwards of $150k per year to bring in a transfer QB and I don't know whether DA has that type of money yet.

So true. Came in extremely thin, and then a crazy amount of defensive players lost during the game. Wisconsin's won the line of scrimmage battle after Minnesota won it the past few years. Allen finally had success vs Minnesota and he no longer was timid. Gophers DLine rarely got pressure and...

Post Game Thread: Gophers Look Abysmal in Home Loss to Badgers

As a Gopher fan I feel like we had the rug pulled out from under us. We supported the team through tough times, and then finally the things that we knew needed to happen were taken care of: 1. Outdoor stadium 2. Premier practice facilities 3. Better coaching hires with Kill and then Fleck. And...

    '22 Season vs '23 Season

I would say the opener vs OSU in 2021 was competitive. The team and coach played to win and the talent gap wasn't as large. Also was it 2018 when the Gophers played a respectable game at Columbus? Also prior to NIL the BIG West was stronger. This year just feels like the whole West took a couple...

Post Game Thread: OSU Blows Out Minnesota

On the positive the D Line played better at times. Having Walley play man against Harrison Jr worked well and I wish the defense played more man. Evans was effective. It was obvious to everyone how big the talent gap was and is. It seems to be getting worse with NIL and it's really dissapointing...

An amazing collection of things I didn’t see coming

I wonder if the secondary poor play is somewhat scheme and probably injury related. In today's game, Walley mostly played man on the best college receiver and for the most part locked it down. He is a really good man corner. I think the zone coverage this year has been really bad and not sure...

Post Game Thread: Minnesota Gives Up 600 Yards and 49 Points to Purdue

Has the Rossi secondary always played this much zone? God they are terrible in zone for much of the year. I know Walley and Nubin are good to great players. Can Rossi make an adjustment to man or coach up the zone?

Huh? I think for a lot of young people it is a big selling point. It’s one of the top ten cities in the country I would argue.

I agree. Something was off yesterday besides missing two linebackers. The D Line was dominated. Anyone remember that Purdue extra point where the center and guard picked up our d tackle and body slammed him? The D Line was dominated yesterday.

AK's bullet on 3rd down to put the game away

There were mistakes made by both offense and defense late in this game. How did Williams get behind the Gopher’s secondary? This guy is so disruptive Copied from Illini guy’s twitter feed Before Jer'Zhan Newton entered the game. Minnesota Passing - 9-of-11, 130 yards, 1 TD Rushing - 17...

Hats Off to the OL and Jordan Nubin!

I personally would cut Tyler some slack. This team could use all the potential playmakers it can get. Maybe the coaches can think of him as Bucky Irving 2.0 :), but I know Bucky could run between the tackles as well.

Hats Off to the OL and Jordan Nubin!

Great effort and results by Oline and Nubin! Still hoping they can figure out a way to get Tyler the ball in space (like they did on the play where he put his knee down but without doing that) :)

What a weird column, per La Velle: Gophers victory over Michigan State does not match triumph over Iowa

Yeah he is like a lot of guys that cover sports in this town, in that he doesn't pay attention to college football.
