Why does Minnesota not have a Bowl Game?

One of the things I think the PAC 12 did right was holding Championship games in Las Vegas. It's a great place for sporting events and a great draw for fans. Nothing like watching March Madness in Vegas, great weather, great sports bars.

    Better Fan Experience

LOL... I think at Autzen they have three different check points as you enter the stadium. First, is for bottles reminding people that any bottles brought into the stadium have to be empty and plastic, they also send anyone with a backpack or purse to the second check point to have them examined...

    The Final Straw

Oregon, Wa, USC and UCLA are officially in the Big 10 Aug 2, 2024. PAC 12 does standard distributions to all 12 teams this year.

    Better Fan Experience

For what it's worth, Autzen is similar in size, a bit larger and typical attendance is 102% of capacity. Getting into the stadium runs quite smoothly, easy and fast, someone might want to see what the differences are between how it's handled at the two stadiums. As for Autzen, fans don't sit...

    The Final Straw

I think it will be much more difficult to go undefeated in the expanded Big 10. Example: Michigan plays, Texas, Oregon, USC at home and Washington and Ohio State on the road next year. Going undefeated with that schedule won't be easy.

Can the Gophers find success in the new Big Ten?

You are correct Nike sponsored Steve in 1974 to the tune of $5000. Steve graduated from the University of Oregon in 1973, so this was after he left Oregon. I don't think they sponsored athletes that were enrolled at the University of Oregon. FYI: I did know Steve on a very casual basis, played...

Can the Gophers find success in the new Big Ten?

I don't think Phil Knight was giving to Oregon in the 60s or the 70s. Nike wasn't founded until 1970 (yes it was called "Blue Ribbon Sports" before that). And Nike didn't go public until 1980. I think it was some time after 1980, before Phil started pumping money into the U of O. I think the...

Can the Gophers find success in the new Big Ten?

That's a valid question, of course Nike has a lot of Duck alumni in powerful places. For example: The Warsaw Sports Marketing program at the U of O is directly linked to Nike and they do a lot of things together, point is Nike and Oregon are more than Phil and Penny Knight and Oregon.

Can the Gophers find success in the new Big Ten?

Here's the new Oregon Indoor Football facility I believe it's scheduled to be completed in 2024

Can the Gophers find success in the new Big Ten?

Since 1990 the Ducks are 16-9 vs the current Big 10 teams. Also, Oregon's athletic facilities are ranked the best in the country by 247 Sports. Here's just a sample, this is Hayward Field, the track and field facility. Under Hayward Field it is amazing, go to hayward.uoregon.edu to get a real...

2023-2024 College Football Coaches Hired/Fired Thread

I call BS on your comment. I knew a number of guys that played at different schools at different levels, they all got extras of some sort. FYI, I was studying to become a minister at a very small school (800 students), very conservative environment, "crooked" wasn't any part of the environment.

2023-2024 College Football Coaches Hired/Fired Thread

I really don't know, but the money has always been available. I'm an old guy in my 70s, I played bball for a very small college and as a freshman I came off the bench, had a great game and became a starter from there on out. The very next day after that great game, I found out I "had a job" that...

Perhaps recruits with NIL money can fly family in anytime they want. I honestly don't think this is an issue these days.

2023-2024 College Football Coaches Hired/Fired Thread

I find it pretty interesting that "driving distance" is a factor in recruiting. I'd be surprised if your coaches actually "drive" to visit recruits in any of these metro areas. Flying from Minn to Dallas or Atlanta is about 2 1/2 hours, about the same as Eugene to LA. Virtually all of the...

I'd also like to think we'll be bringing "Lots of physical" as well. Really love what Lanning is doing at Oregon.

2023-2024 College Football Coaches Hired/Fired Thread

I can see Jonathan Smith winning 10 games at MSU in a year or two. He's a very good coach, MSU will play a much more physical game under Smith. Ball control grind you into the ground football. MSU appears to be very soft on both the defensive and offensive line, once that gets fixed MSU will...

2023-2024 College Football Coaches Hired/Fired Thread

Lots of competition for Calif recruits. Little schools like USC, UCLA, Ohio St, Mich, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Washington, Michigan, etc. they all recruit Calif hard. You can't win today without recruiting nationally or internationally, it's that simple. If the recruits come from Hawaii, Somoa...

Non-conference games as we head into the future ...

Curious, did you know that Oregon is 12-7 vs USC over the last 30 years. Not to mention one USC win that was vacated making it 12-6 for the Ducks.

After obliterating Colorado, Oregon releases recap video featuring Colorado pre-game trash talk

Yea, I'm a little curious about this as well. Oregon did have a violation about 12-15 years ago when Chip Kelly was at Oregon. A couple years ago I got the full tour during a Oregon basketball recruiting trip to the U of O campus, it was very clean a very good experience. I've got great...
