NCAA Creates a Post-Season Invitation WBB Tournament in 2024

I have heard that the WNIT will go to a 48 team format. Albeit with a little bit lower level of competition, because they won’t get that “next” AQ team from the top conferences. However, it will be good for smaller conferences with good second teams that are not chosen for the NCAA tournament...

2023 College Basketball Transfer Portal Watch Thread

All players that were on a roster and did not redshirt during the 20-21 season are eligible for a fifth year of competition. Because they have five years of playing, more of them are reaching grad status and transferring for a second time, after using their free transfer. Once this group is...

2023 College Basketball Transfer Portal Watch Thread

I think that after this next year, their numbers will fall quite a bit. The last of the Covid players will be in their fourth year now, and not all are using their fifth year next year. So we will be seeing less repeat and grad transfers, which don’t require waivers, except for the very top...

STrib: Sophie Hart Returns Home with Big Goals

The video above was put together by an agency that wanted Hannah to sign a pro deal with them. But it is very representative of the work that Coach P and her staff put in to develop her talent, to give her the confidence to go up against not only Myah Selland of the Summitt League, but also...

However, there is a lot of body change that happens between seventh grade and college, and a lot of girls plateau. While many girls stop growing after eighth grade, more and more are continuing to have growth spurts up until age 20 or so. Genetics play a factor, but some growth spurts come...

    2025 Recruiting

Of course there is. Can she play defense? Is she a team player? can she pass the ball? Can she catch a pass that’s not thrown exactly to her? Can she jump a passing lane and go the other direction? Does she box out and rebound? Being able to jump and “looking athletic” are very common...

2023 College Basketball Transfer Portal Watch Thread

The window only closes for the free waiver. Undergrads can transfer after the window closes, but they would have to sit a year, except for in extreme circumstances. Grad transfers don’t have to sit by rule, so they can enter the portal after the undergrad deadline.

    Janay Sanders

Coach P’s teams are known for their defense, as we had some of the lowest turnover rates in the nation during the years we were at South Dakota. Her staff will work with the players, and if they continue to have turnovers, they will sit on the bench a lot. As to the positionless offense, Coach...

    Recruiting

No need to be rude, maybe they’re just making a point about recruiting - as in rankers and even coaches having different viewpoints. Different people see players differently. And coaches tend to look at players with an inherent bias, depending on their past experiences and their near- future...

Creme's Updated Way too Early top 25 for 2023-24

Players make more than that in the WNBL, except for the DP’s (Developmental Players). The more well-known you are, the more you are paid. The star players on each team do very well. (My daughter played there this past winter).

    Transfer Portal

I first noticed Jane when my daughter played against her two years in a row. Then this past year, I had her on my fantasy team, so I watched a lot of their games. She is a strong, classy player, not dirty, not cheap. She is athletic and just plays the game the right way.

Looking at her profile, she plays for an EYBL team. Therefore, Coach P probably saw her at Boo this past weekend. Maybe they had a previous connection, maybe not. But it is very nice having coaches that don’t only recruit regional girls. Bringing in talent from around the country is a good...
