The problem could be that 1 or 2 of the current freshmen are convinced to go into the portal for a better program and/or more NIL $. To think that current freshmen class will stick it out might be a wish and a prayer. Then what?

Agree with this, hard part is how will he be able to recruit next year if he doesn’t get an extension? He’d be in year 3 of a 5 year deal, which is the time his agent will say he can’t recruit without an extension.

He’s struggled the last few years and gotta think NIL and the current landscape makes it nearly impossible for places like Stanford and Northwestern to compete. Vandy & Duke are having ok years but it’s got to be so tough for these schools.

Take out the 1-11 year at Baylor(with the Briles scandal, not much in the cupboard) and he’s 18-9. You can’t compare the 3 years before him with the roster he was left and the cheating that Briles was doing. I have no knowledge of the Temple situation but it is always a stepping stone program.

They ought to be a roof on Ryan Field at that price! Living only 20 minutes from Evanston, we will go more often. The job they did on Welsh-Ryan was impressive.

If you ever saw the movie ‘We Are Marshall’, Bowden is shown as the WVU coach when Marshall plays them. Haven’t been to Morgantown but had a few visits to Huntington, WV and also rafted down the New River once, beautiful part of the country.

Been watching that game and TT playing their usual stifling defense. Gabe 3-11, but the whole team is shooting just 33% and less than 20% from 3.

Northwestern had an indoor football practice field next to Welsh-Ryan arena. It was about an 80 yard field. It is now used by baseball and softball. I toured the new lakefront facility and it’s amazing(but slightly too low a ceiling). I think football shares it with lacrosse, field hockey, & soccer.

The players love Mark Adams, more than Beard. Fun game to watch!
