National Championship game tonight - NDSU vs Montana State

I am not a Bison lover but also not a Bison hater. Question for those of you that laugh at their success as an FCS power. What have they done in the past 15 years that makes you believe if they went FBS they wouldn't be a good team? Not saying a national threat but even on the Gopher level of...

Ryerse Enrolling now for Spring Football and Baseball

I think I heard (or I am making this up in my head) that the plan is for him to handle the punting duties and potentially the kickoffs and the kicker from Alexandria would be our placekicker ideally.

National Championship game tonight - NDSU vs Montana State

It is fun watching Minnesota kids and continues to raise the bar for high school football in Minnesota. I watched the game and was entertained. Bryce Lance is a stud, Raja Nelson from LN had a great catch towards the end of the game, and I genuinely cheer for NDSU in most games. Their fans can...

What grade would you give the Gophers 2024 football season?

I gave them a B. Credit to PJ that our 8-5 season is considered a "bad year" - the North Carolina and Rutgers losses hurt. In hindsight the win over USC wasn't as impressive as it seemed at the time and we probably should have beaten Michigan. The more I watch PJ he is really two coaches...

What grade would you give the Gophers coaching in the win over Virginia Tech?

A - Did what he had to do to win. Played a lot of players. Had fun. I hate on Fleck at times for his in game coaching and truly think we lose some games because of his conservative approaches to some games, but I am so glad he is our coach. He has built a program where the players seem like...

The NCAA is considering allowing five years of eligibility for players in all sports moving forward, per an NCAA official.

I have said this for a few years. One way to make college football sports better is to do this: - 5 years of eligibility - No redshirts (Medical Redshirts still allowed) - You can transfer at any semester break and gain immediate eligibility but you have to make a decision of it costing you 1...

I get what you're saying and that makes sense.

Current get-in prices for the quarterfinals on @StubHub. Rose: $170 Fiesta: $40 Sugar: $33 Peach: $16

Lets say the Gophers had a great year... Fans would need to go to Indianapolis for the conference championship game, then either bye, home game (not free), or an away game, then two more bowl games with airfare.

    SEC armor - hypothetical results

Your situation makes sense as well... Next year, without making drastic changes: Season ends 11/29 Conference Championship Game 12/6 First round games December 12/13 Quarterfinals December 19/20 Semi Finals Jan 1 Final Jan 12 Cons: - Loser of conference championship game does not get any time...

    SEC armor - hypothetical results

For what it is worth, and doesn't strengthen my argument, but Ohio State was ranked 8th and may be the current favorite to win it. True, they weren't 9-12... but if in the first year the 8th ranked team wins it would be hard argument to say the #9 team will never win it.

    SEC armor - hypothetical results

Yeah, it would have been interesting to see how the 4 teams would have played out. I just went to 1-4 in the last poll. I don't think they would have put Georgia/Texas 2 and 3 like I pointed out for a couple of reasons - it would be their third time playing and a repeat of the conference...

    SEC armor - hypothetical results

I think they setup of the playoffs is good. Arizona State proved they are as good as anyone. Came within a 4th down stop of beating Texas. Reward your conference champs and guess who the next 8 best teams are. Funny thing - in the old 4 team playoffs you would have had Oregon, Texas, Penn...

    WR Malachi Coleman Commits

I’m not against a wealthy local guy that supports the U but is a fan of A&M. There probably isn’t a fan base that is more delusional than that base and spends/wastes money on their football team.

Wow! ESPN...I mean ABC taking every opportunity to tell us the B1G is over-rated.

At 7:00 yesterday it was 32 degrees in Knoxville and Columbus was 25.

Wow! ESPN...I mean ABC taking every opportunity to tell us the B1G is over-rated.

Isn't the playoffs actually the opposite? In theory with these 12 teams, without playoffs would be 6 bowl games with 6 champions? Now there will only be one champion... the champion will along the way win the Rose Bowl, etc but there will only be one true champion? Indiana, SMU, Clemson and...

    Indifferent to Indiana, but.....

Yeah... quite the story! Maybe SMU was just ahead of the time and doing NIL before NIL was a thing... Penn State on the other hand... not sure if their thing is every going to be a thing!

    Opting out of Bowl Games

What if you change Jake Butt to random student? You have a multi-million dollar contract on the line. You have an optional test the week of finals. If you do well, it does not benefit you. If you do poorly, it could severely hurt your contract. Do you take the test to learn a life lesson?
