***OFFICIAL MARYLAND AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I don't Know about Kelly. But as a now retire college and high school basketball official I am in total agreement with you on Ted Valentine, arrogantly strutting around like a peacock as if the fans were there to watch him. Wondering if he finally retired.

Juwan Howard Not Serving as Michigan Coach Against PSU

Any true basketball fan would know that Martelli is a Philadelphia icon. I’ll write this off as a classy gesture by Howard, rather than a reason to troll him.

At 3-1, are the Gophers good, does the B1G stink, or is it a little of both?

Hawkins is playing at a very high level and has improved as the year has gone on. He is their MVP so far and if he keeps this up could be ALL BIG TEN.

Ben Johnson is NOT a disaster....

That’s a good sign that people will change their minds if given a reason to. Some still cling to insisting they are right, despite the team trending in a winning direction. Hopefully a successful January and February gives them the chance to grudgingly admit they were wrong.

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

So you are doubling down in being right about Johnson, we all understand that. I am willing to give him this year before decreeing the naysayers are correct and he is a disaster. It is true that the schedule has been soft, and Michigan is a mediocre team. Still winning on the road in the Big...

    Tollackson Stepping Down

I’ve never thought of Grimm as an over the top homer, though all team play by play announcers are bound to be partisan as they support the team that approves their employment. But Grimm is an excellent play by play guy, the best they have had in decades IMO. And I go back to Dick Enroth in the...

Dennis Evans will not be medically cleared to compete At Lville going forward

Too bad for Dennis Evans. But hopefully he can overcome whatever the issue is. Wonder if Evans was promised NIL money and, if so, was it paid?

    Gage Larvadain

Why would a good wide receiver transfer here if Fleck wants to run the ball 80% of the time? Hopefully the NH transfer QB can help balance the offense and get the receivers involve.

    Carrington to Return to Gophers

Shooter has always been clickbait, even before clickbait was a thing. He has always wildly speculated (“people are saying” or “a little birdie says”). I stopped thinking he has much to contribute years ago, and don’t know why the Pioneer Press keeps publishing him.

    Now this was a backcourt!!

There is really no question that the BIG BOYS are treated differently. For example, the North Carolina academic scandal of 2014. “For 18 years, at least 3100 students at the University of North Carolina took fake "paper classes," and advisers funneled athletes into the program to keep them...

    Now this was a backcourt!!

As pointed out earlier, Lou Hudson, Archie Clark, and Terry Kunze and Don Yates was undeniably the best UMN backcourt to ever play, though Hudson was was really a forward when 6’5” was the usual size for a forward of that era. Hudson is NBA HOF, Clark was a dynamic scorer for the LA Lakers and...

Ezra: Firing Richard Pitino is Looking Like a Massive Mistake by Minnesota

Pitino needed to go. But I’ve not given up on Johnson. He inherited a big mess in 21-22 with almost a complete roster overhaul. Then last year he loses two forwards to season ending injuries, leaving him with little depth. We are seeing progress this year so far, but if there isn’t enough...

Reusse: Foolish for Gophers to continue avoiding St. Thomas hoops rivalry

There is no upside for the Gophers to play St. Thomas right now. If they beat them Reusse’s response would be “They should have beat them.” If they lost it would have been doom and gloom from the self proclaimed cynic Reusse.

Never a dull moment with Juwan Howard

Howard and his strength and conditioning coach threw punches at each other? Nothing says leadership like a physical altercation with your staff. What’s next Juwan? Slapping a player? Throwing a chair at a referee? Cloths lining an opponent as he runs down the court near your bench, like Woody...

FSU Want to leave ACC and come to B1G

Stop the chop! Hate the chop!

    The question must be asked….

Well, it is a major educational and research university and economic engine for the state, which is why it exists at all. So there’s that pesky detail.

    Miles Tarver ready for promotion

I believe Archie Clark, Randy Breuer and Jim Peterson and Ralph Sampson Jr. are also available.

How do you feel about the state of program right now?

Nope! Johnson was dealt a rough hand the first two years, with mass exodus when Pitino was fired and the frontline injuries last year. But this year he has a full squad and mainly his guys, so let’s see how the year goes. It is a make or break time.
