Post Game Thread: Gophers Crush Rhode Island

I agree. I thought it was a great pass by Brosmer placed exactly where it needed to be to have a chance at being caught. It probably gets deflected if thrown higher. The degree of difficulty on that catch was probably a 7-8, so not easy, but a catch a great receiver should make.

Post Game Thread: Gophers Crush Rhode Island

I hope I’m wrong, but the Nevada game will not be as easy as some think and hope. The new coaching staff has them playing hard and playing better. Their defense is athletic and speedy on the ends and corners. I think Brosmer’s short passes to the backs will be more of a challenge this week...

***OFFICIAL RHODE ISLAND AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I have thought the same thing since he touched the ball the first time today. He doesn’t look smooth.

That might help him get out of it.

And the ball on almost every throw is in the correct spot. Haven’t seen a throw yet that I’d say was forced or ill advised.

We’ll see. Their schedule is difficult. Really difficult. They lost a lot and I’m not convinced Moore is the guy.

Michigan is a 6 win team. Seven at best if they are lucky.

I think the production and graphics on this Peacock broadcast have been good. EXCEPT for the audio, which is not good.

The offensive line needs to tighten the hell up.

Darius Taylor will start against Rhode Island.

I agree. I wouldn’t let him get more than 10 touches. He would get a bigger workload next week against Nevada.

Happy Five, Upset Five Fanbases: Week 1 (Upset: Minnesota; "This game showed us zero imagination and risk from the Gophers")

First, I 100% agree with this…..but PJ won’t do it. History says PJ is more likely to do the exact opposite and run it even more because he can. Second, while the game with Rhode Island should be a glorified practice, I don’t think the Nevada game is going to be that way. The Nevada team I...

    Week 1 Other Games Thread

Me too. So we are the only team in the Big10 that lost week one. We are also the only team in week one that played someone worth a damn. And while this next comment has nothing to do with that, I’ll add it here anyway. Yes, the Gophers should beat Nevada, but that team is not the same dumpster...

Agree. It’s feels like we are the only team that missed a field goal this week.

    The inability to throw downfield

I agree, and they did that on the final drive. But PJ is just not going to allow that if he has the lead, be it by 3 td’s or 1 point. I’d like to think that at some point he’s going to get out of the offense’s way and let it modernize, but he’s too fucking stubborn. If he wanted to develop his...

    The inability to throw downfield

Something just hit me. I don’t recall seeing a single slant pass last night. We are usually good for about 15 of those in a game. I’m not crying about that because I personally hate that play, but interesting that I don’t remember it being thrown even once. I see things about Brosmer that I...

    The inability to throw downfield

You know, this take is spot on. I don’t remember the last time we had an offensive line that excelled in pass protection. Probably have to go all the way back to the Mason years. I’d say we are EXTREMELY poor in this area. Is that a Callahan problem or a type of talent we are signing problem?
