    GOPHERS HIRING BEN JOHNSON

A very salty Gopherhole today. I was surprised by the Ben Johnson hire but wow, a little taken aback by the venom. I’m a Gopher fan, I bleed it. Ben is the coach of my team so I’m all in. As Ken Kesey once said “ Now, you're either on the bus or off the bus.” I’m on the bus. It’s not even a...

A Terry Pluto story about Dennis Gates. Good stuff. https://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/2021/03/why-cleveland-state-basketballs-dennis-gates-is-a-rare-coach-still-wearing-a-suit-at-games-terry-pluto.html?outputType=amp

    Next Gopher Head Coach

This is from a BC next coach article. He has a connection to BC. His wife. “Dennis Gates, Cleveland State - He’s a good coach and his wife Jocelyn is a senior associate athletic director at BC. But there would be weird optics to hiring him because of that tie-in. In fact, if they were going to...

    It's time for THAT post

Point (3) was dead on today. They did not score nearly enough points to give themselves a chance to win. Not raving about the D today, sometimes we looked like we were in quicksand but giving up 63 points should keep you in most games. Especially at home. Offensive efficiency killed us.

What's the worst thing for you about not being able to attend home games in person??

Really miss it after a game like today. Would have been electric. I miss section 207.

    Best College Shooter

At Minnesota ('86), Skiles made 20 of 28 field-goal attempts and all five free throws, for 45 points, and had nine rebounds and four assists. He would have been over 50 with three pointers. Best game by an opponent I've seen at Williams. Gophs won 76-71. Good stuff that day.

    Best College Shooter

Scott Skiles, Glenn Rice, Dennis Scott ( Georgia Tech). Trent Tucker should get a mention. I never saw Rick Mount play but he was by all accounts unbelievable.

It seems Richard is very comfortable with Spring recruiting now. With the resent changes in NCAA rules, it will be interesting to see if that continues to be part of our identity.
