After looking so discombobulated on offense, it's a miracle that the game is this close.

I'm not sure comparing Johnson's stats to any of the starters is fair considering the wide disparity in minutes. I would like to see more minutes for the bench players too, but using such a small sample size as justification for more playing time can be misleading.

Sad that you have to bring up race. The Gophers lost because they're not athletic enough and, when shooting, couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. The refs or race had nothing to do with it. But keep those excuses handy for future games.

The Gophers hustle, play hard the whole game, and are good defensively. To take the next step, however, the recruiting will have to go to another level. More shooters, athletes, and size are needed.

JuJu is a great player, but the announcers practically anointed her for sainthood. I wouldn't be surprised if they sent her flowers after the game.

And every time she drives into a thicket of bigs or misses a wide open three, I cringe. Many of her attempts are so bad or forced, they should be labeled turnovers. Her ball handling and defense are great, but I wish she had a better understanding of her limitations.

I agree with everything you say, especially about the dribbling. It slows everything down, and eventually discourages people from moving and cutting to the basket.

I agree, she is better suited to play shooting guard. Taking a team leading 18 shots with only one assist is not stellar point guard play. There were too many instances when she was into her dribbling routine and other players were waving their arms to show they were open. Michigan moved the...

I hope she doesn't come back. Why waste a whole year of eligibility for just a handful of games? If she sits out, she will have two more years to play with Grace, Tori, Nia, McKenna, Taylor, and whoever else they bring in.

Also appreciated the fact that when the Gophers made their comeback, it was not against a bunch of subs. The Maryland starters were still on the floor. I remember Sellers pounding the ball on the court in frustration.

From what I've heard, most of this years schedule was set up by the current coach and her staff. Supposedly teams were picked based on their style of play, rather than how good they are. If they continue to win their conference games, it won't matter. But if they finish below 500, it will come...

Am curious as to why Holloway gets so little playing time. Is she still limited physically? An attitude problem? Not good enough offensively? I've always admired her hustle and the way she plays defense. You would think with our shortened bench, she would merit more minutes.

I agree. I collected them for years, for both football and basketball. I still have them. I wish they still sold them at games, but I would guess the U just views them as a bother and too expensive to print.
