Gach waiver has not been submitted as of today

As we assuming that since they have a plan for this and everything will work out that they also had a plan to be bad last year? And a plan to be bad three years ago? And a plan to win eight games in 2015? And to miss on a bunch of recruits? Maybe they have plans - that doesn't mean those plans...

All Things 2021 Gophers Basketball Recruiting Thread

If he was from Minnesota we'd be obsessed with him without ever having seen him play

Wichita State’s Gregg Marshall punched a player, choked Gophers assistant coach Kyle Lindsted

This is a big ol bummer for college hoops if it's all true. Marshall is a terrific coach and what he did getting Wichita to a point where it was consistently excellent made the game better. And while I agree with an above poster who said he's got a 'temper-based coaching style', I kinda liked...

Week 5 Other Games Thread: 2020 Season

I'd say so considering both can probably realistically contend for the CFP. Georgia has dominated the matchup since Smart took over. Florida kinda dominated there for a while before that. Both teams have had awesome runs, but rarely have they both been top-5 caliber like it looks like they are...

Week 5 Other Games Thread: 2020 Season

As a Dawgs fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the butt-whoopin Georgia put on Auburn last night. After a brutal first half against Arkansas (which beat Miss St yesterday in upset fashion), alarm bells were ringing a bit. Their defense is as good as any in the country, but the offense will likely hold...

Ahjany Lee Offered, Class of 2022

Intrigued by Lee as one of the bigs in that 2022 class. By all accounts, his growth in the last year and change has been insane - from a guy who couldn't walk and dribble at the same time to now trying to handle the ball, shooting jumpers etc. In seeing him a few times, I think he should be...

    Damarion Watson

Must not be much of a secret, as he's got offers from Florida, Iowa State, Iowa etc. Totino-Grace has quite a cache of talent this upcoming winter as two of the best 2023 prospects (Taison Chatman and CJ O'Hare) are both there too.

Jon Rothstein: Big Ten Preseason Power Rankings (#12. Minnesota)

I haven't done a deep dive but I know Maryland returns two multi-year starting guards in Ayala and Morsell plus a double-figure scorer on the wing in Wiggins. Throw in a couple transfers who are similar to ours (Galin Smith from Bama who is in the Johnson garbage guy mold and Jairius Hamilton...

Jon Rothstein: Big Ten Preseason Power Rankings (#12. Minnesota)

There isn't a media person who works as hard as Rothstein (at least on appearances). Him ranking the Gophers low is warranted given the team was bad last year and lost what most people thought was an all-american center. We like the transfers and the roster coming back but from an outside...

The Athletic: Minnesota is reloading in the transfer market, and due for a little good luck

Hamilton is one of the best writers in the college hoops space. He does a great job and I appreciate his unbiased perspective.

Gach, Robbins waiver updates from Marcus

I don't understand why people think if a player has to sit for a year, they are being punished. If a player needs to transfer so badly out of the program that he's at, that he's willing to spend a season not playing, then by all means, transfer out. But the culture of college hoops continues...

    James Graham III picks Maryland

Looks like a nice player. Big, athletic, pretty skilled. Not sure what his mentality is, but I could see him being a defensive ace if he wants to be.

Dabo Swinney says the national title's value 'doesn't change' without the Big Ten, Pac-12

Swinney has gone from incredibly likable to almost an automatic eyeroll every time he talks, but I don't know what else he's supposed to say in this spot, so if people are annoyed with what he said, they are being annoyed for the sake of being annoyed.

Is This the End of College Football?

This is the thing very few people want to acknowledge. It's all about the opressed athletes getting screwed for their free labor. I notice it a lot more with college basketball players rushing to go play in the G League or in Europe where, yes, they get paid, but the experience is nowhere near...

Updated Big Ten Power Rankings (through NBA declare deadline)

If Robbins doesn't get a waiver, I think a lot of things gotta go right for this collection to be in the bubble mix. Unless Curry comes close to what he was supposed to be before injuries, you are relying on Sam Freeman, Jarvis Omersa and Brandon Johnson to log a big chunk of minutes at center...

Updated Big Ten Power Rankings (through NBA declare deadline)

Assuming Robbins does not get a waiver: Illinois - Dosunmu would be my pick for POY, Cockburn makes the sophomore jump and they have good depth. Wisconsin - because Wisconsin. Michigan State - Hauser, Henry, Watts is a good trio plus the Spartans always have guys ready to step up. Iowa -...

Mitchell and Freeman 9 minute workout video

Isn't that odd though? I guess I find it odd that they'd want a guy filming them working out. Unless they just really need new pics for the gram (Instagram)

Mitchell and Freeman 9 minute workout video

I'm curious how this whole thing gets arranged. Are those guys just randomly all at a park and the guy with the camera shows up by happenstance? Or did they like find someone on purpose to video them at a park doing weird basketball things? I'd love to be a fly on the wall when some of these...

Seth Davis on Pitino at MN: "before the fans run him out of the job, perhaps they should consider whom the school might find who would do any better."

There are a handful of things from Davis in there that I disagree with, though in general, I think his analysis of college basketball is fine. The 'who could they get that is better' argument, while condescending and annoying, is probably a fair one. They aren't getting John Beilein. They...
