    I first ate at that McDonalds in the early 70's going to games as a kid. Last semester of college in 1980 I lived fairly close to it and ate there way too often.

    My freshman year at the U. Saw them play about 6 times that season. Fabulous team.

    One of the greatest Gopher athletes of all time, Noel Jenke, passes away, age 73

    I think baseball was his best sport, outstanding in high school and legion ball, my older brother played legion ball with him. Hitting .402 in college after not playing for three years is incredible.

    Love the later starting date. With the economic situation of college sports and given how expensive baseball is especially for the northern schools and all of the travel expenses, MLB may have to help out with the expense of using wooden bats, if that is ever going to change

    He is the first I thought of also. I think the Thompson, Saunders, McHale, Williams era was the greatest era of Minnesota basketball. Unfortunately ruined by violations. I did get to witness it live.

    1974 North Carolina State. David Thompson, Monte Towe among others, certainly helped me fall in love with the game of basketball. A few years later I had season tickets as a student for the great Gopher team of 76-77
