I’m shocked. So many gopherhole experts said the offense was going to be so much better this year with Athan and a new OC. They are simply OK at most positions on offense.
He has the talent but the question is whether the offensive line can protect him. They have potential too but they are the least experienced o-line in the big ten based on starts
Agreed on actual eyeballs and advertising dollars being more important than adding residents of a city or state to a big ten plan. Teams with national interest and better TV ratings are going to be more important because those games can demand higher rates from advertisers.
Same as the local AAU coaches who complained forever about the gopher coaches and then the U hired their chosen guy and they send virtually none of their top players to the U
Nebraska still has a big ten west title which the gophers don’t. They also pay a lot more than Minnesota. There isn’t a coach in the country that would take the Minnesota job over Oklahoma or Nebraska. Oklahoma being the best job of the three. It’s just way easier to recruit at those...
The big unknown is the gophers OL. The guys have been in the program awhile but as far as starts and game experience they are the least experienced in the Big Ten
I would think they will go after Taylor from Kansas State was associate AD there before going to K-State. He can then force out Kirk and his kid and bring in his good buddy Chris Klieman who he hired at NDSU and K-State
