I actually disagree with this. 4 years ago Niko hadn't made an NCAA tourney with CSU. He coached there 3 years and went from 12-20 to 20-8 with a NIT appearance. I felt he was unqualified at the time. Since then he has made the tourney 2 out of 3 years and possible again this year.

And he was ahead of TJ Otzelberger when he was at UNLV. Pitino was made for the NIL era and learned from his time here. I get the hesitancy (I was too but have been warming up to him the last couple of weeks). Probably helps that CSU is one of the hottest teams in CBB.

I am guessing it is going to be Medved. I am 100% okay with this. He has had success at CSU. He finds diamonds in the rough, and he has a good group of sophomores who could come along with him. I get we want splashy, but no matter who we get it will be exciting and better than what we had.

Ryan Saunders has a worse career win pct than Ben and has never coached in college... You would entertain that guy??? That would be like combining the hire of Pitino and Johnson. Hiring a guy because his dad was a great coach and has no experience. That would be a complete disaster.

I'd take Eaglestaff next year. You almost have to based on that name. Can you imagine if we hire Josh Schertz and Robbie Avila comes with him. We'd have the most unathletic looking stars of all time with Eaglestaff and Avila. Terrance Brown Jr would be another good target!

My problem with Saunders is how bad he was as the Wolves coach (actually pretty similar situation to Ben with the Gophers). Both very inexperienced and got the job due to organizational ties. Neither had much success. Neither were ready for the job when they got it.
