That is correct- rivalry trophy games are regular season. I have yet to see a rivalry trophy game (first time or 2nd time) played for in a Conference Championship game - across conferences.

Gophers fumbled twice that game. Leidner early on - which led to TCUs first TD - caught by Doctson. Donnell Kirkwood fumbled on the TCU 2 which resulted in a touchback.
