    Tyler Nubin Appreciation Thread

His game is starting to remind me of my favorite modern gopher who also happened to be a safety here not too long ago. What a game

Expectations for Cam Christie in yr 1?

I agree he definitely could use some mid range and needs to handle the ball better. If he can do those two things he will be all big ten by the time he’s a junior or senior but even if he can’t develop a consistent mid range game he will still be extremely valuable. As a freshman he was a very...

Expectations for Cam Christie in yr 1?

I don’t understand what promise you didn’t see in Ola-Joseph. The kid was tough, at times a spark plug and was an efficient scorer. I think he has promise to be a very good big ten player. I agree with the others but I’m high on Ola-Joseph

Expectations for Cam Christie in yr 1?

I’m thinking based on his profile that he should come in and contribute similar to Andre Hollins who averaged 9pts 2rb and 2ast. Based on his height and getting more playing time than Hollins did I will bump it up to 10pts 3rb and 2 ast. With hopes that he’s ready to make a big jump in his...

All Things Grayson Grove Recruitment Thread (Class of 2024, Alexandria, MN; 6-8, 190lb; Gophers Commit!

I agree, I was in the same boat but came away impressed as well. Watching the fresh coast hoops highlights was interesting as well. Another player jumped off the film in some of his AAU games and after doing a little digging I found out that player was Max Shikenjanski out of Stillwater. He...

All Things Grayson Grove Recruitment Thread (Class of 2024, Alexandria, MN; 6-8, 190lb; Gophers Commit!

This ^^^^^ Offer early and often if you believe you can identify talent then take some swings. Might miss on a few and a few more might not pan out, but every once in a while we might find our basketball version of rashad Bateman who stays committed even when the blue bloods eventually come...

Big Ten Basketball: Early grades for each teams 2023 offseason moves (14. Minnesota Golden Gophers – Grade: F)

I wish Battle was still on this roster we all know what kind of player he is capable of being but take away the name and look at the production from last year. 37% FG% 44% 2P% 31% 3P% 1.2 FTA 3.8 TRB 1.7 AST 12.6 FGA averaging 12.4 points No doubt he will probably be better next year in Ohio...

    Donald Willis enters transfer portal

I like this Western Michigan pipeline we’ve got going here. You give us your coaches and players who have outperformed their mid major status and we’ll give you guys our players that we’re once promising recruits who have been buried in our depth chart… win-win right?

"It definitely is surprising," Jackson McAndrew on not receiving Gophers' offer

Don’t just offer to say you offered, that was Pitinos philosophy. Offer and offer early on these guys. They may not be interested right away but they aren’t going to tell their first D1 recruiter to hit the road. Build a relationship with the kid and the family and try to change their mind...

    🏒 🏒 🏒 HOCKEY 🏒 🏒 🏒

Not a choke that they lost, it was a choke job because of how they lost. They had a lead and were scared to lose so they played conservatively and spent the entire third period unable to get out of their own zone. They had a heck of a season and were a fun team to watch but when they needed to...

"It definitely is surprising," Jackson McAndrew on not receiving Gophers' offer

I agree with everything you said, but the optics just don’t make sense to me in this case. Talent isn’t the issue so how are you able to determine the kid isn’t a good fit when it appears you haven’t spent any time personally vetting him out.

"It definitely is surprising," Jackson McAndrew on not receiving Gophers' offer

Didn’t realize once there are rumors that a kid is leaning to a different school that you should just throw in the towel. After all there’s never been a 17 year old kid who’s changed his mind after making a decision before. Agree with some other posters though, these kids have to be made a...

***OFFICIAL DEPAUL AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

This was tough to watch but I’m fine with this. This is what a rebuild looks like. The young guys have potential, now they need to take their lumps and get some real experience to grow. Hopefully it pays of in 1-2 years. IMO this was the biggest problem with Pitino. He was so afraid to lose...

    Chris Autman-Bell injury

I’ll raise my hand to this. I still think it was the right decision to throw the ball and build confidence and chemistry for Tanner and the WRs. Terrible fluke play, feel so bad for CRAB. One of my absolute favorite players of the fleck era but we are going to need the pass game to win us a...

What grade would you give Kirk Ciarrocca in his Gophers return?

For me it’s a B+ just because of the game plan. I know it’s probably best to go in control the time of possession and leave with a win and no injuries. A+ In that regard. However, IMO I think these first few games could be used to really establish Morgan and the passing game, with the hopes...

    0-1 How feel you?

Is Robb Smith coaching again? I knew the D would have some growing pains but this was worse than I expected. Hats off to Michigan they came in and didn’t hold anything back. They knew our weaknesses and attacked them effectively. But barring any drastic changes we have no chance at contending...
