    The exact same Gophers

The national media always undersells the Gophers. Bringing in a new QB definitely made it hard to predict where the season was going to go. I've been very satisfied with Max Brosmer overall. There still is a chance the Gophers could get 2 or even 3 more wins than last season, and I'm including a...

    The exact same Gophers

Well, all they can do now is pull off a big upset against Penn St. I try to keep a running count of where the team is at according to expectations. An upset gets you a +1 and being upset gets you a -1. A win in a couple of weeks will offset the loss to Rutgers. A win against Wisconsin probably...

    The exact same Gophers

You can't take any Big Ten team lightly. I'll agree on that. I'll put it this way: Rutgers is bottomfeeder in the conference and these are the teams you have to step over to get near the top. Otherwise, you are going to have to settle 6 or 7 wins and a minor bowl bid which is where this team is...

    The exact same Gophers

Well, I'd say it's the same thing from the standpoint of the Gophers seemingly putting it all together and then laying an egg against a bad team, and Rutgers is a bad team. Reminds me of them in years past going into Bloomington and somehow losing the Hoosiers when they were always bad.

Is it time to admit PJ (and staff) can coach?

Glen Mason lasted 10 seasons at Minnesota. The AD at the time made an impulsive decision, in my opinion anyway, to fire him after an epic collapse in a minor bowl game. Well, you probably know the rest... If you trust your AD to make a great hire then maybe. Otherwise, it's a roll of the dice on...

Is it time to admit PJ (and staff) can coach?

He's paid about what he's worth at this point in my opinion. Whether he is average or slightly above average is kind of a silly argument. He gets paid the big bucks so he should be able to take the heat, by the way. I certainly hope he does enough to be paid much more in the future. In the end...

Post Game Thread: Gophers Lose Disappointing Game at Rutgers

I agree. Of course, every Big Ten team can't be overlooked, but I don't accept games like these have to be like a coin flip. Good, well-prepared, focused teams rise above that. Clunkers at the beginning of the season I can accept, but is the time to have it all together. It's not as if this team...

What grade would you give the Gophers coaching in loss at Rutgers?

With players now getting NIL money it's become a more legitimate argument. College athletes are going to be treated more and more like pro athletes. Don't like it then play in a lower division.

Poll: Fleck ever win 8 again?

I think it has less to do with liberal/conservative and more with north/south. Most of the football talent is in the South. How many players from the South want to come to Minnesota?

Is it time to admit PJ (and staff) can coach?

It's always a roll of the dice with a new coach. We are probably stuck in this situation for the foreseeable future. Could be worse, as the typical Minnesota sports fan says.

Describe the Gophers loss to Rutgers in 1 sentence

I can do it in one word: unacceptable.

Forget Nashville and Charlotte, what's there to do in Phoenix?

Music City Bowl (Nashville) VS Duke's Mayo Bowl (Charlotte)

Been to both cities. They're both fun and lively cities. Nashville of course is the country music capital. Charlotte has the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Yes, there are a lot of big banks in Charlotte, rather boring, but the downtown is very lively on weekends with lots of great restaurants, etc.

Corn Nation on Nebbie Loss to UCLA

They are typical passive-aggressive Midwesterners. Nice to your face, not so nice at a distance.
