Stapp is brutal

While I still have hope that Fickell will dash to OSU in two years, with Wisconsin having burned the bridge with Leonhard and the Alvarez era, we can’t bank on Wisconsin and Iowa getting worse to beat them. The U has to keep investing so we can match them.

Fickell is a really good coach, but seems risky to burn bridges w someone like Leonhard for a guy who’d likely leave for OSU at the first opportunity.

Beyond the fact that it is way too soon to seriously discuss firing Fleck, Wisconsin also had an up-and-coming young coach who turned down professional coaching offers to stay at his alma mater to be their replacement. Do we have that?

I get that we don’t need to do anything more than run Mo to win this game (although that won’t be true the next two weeks) but I wish we did more than run Mo. Let Athan work out the kinks.

NMSU had two deep safeties the whole game. I think ol’ Jer was content to have us run for 8 YPC to keep the score down. Dylan looked disinterested at times which is my only concern beyond Axel’s injury. Easiest win we’ve had in a decade or more.

D-line recruiting has been excellent these past two years, and our D-line on the field this year was probably the best it’s been this millennia. No clue if that is all on Wilt, but surely some of it is.

This off season just feels like one step forward, 1.5 steps back so far. Need to get some momentum going.
